Lincoln Square Announces Lineup of October Events

Lincoln Square announces its October lineup of events starting with New York City's largest holiday festival, Winter's Eve at Lincoln Square. The event will take place on Monday, November 29, 2010. Now in its 11th year, Winter's Eve features free entertainment, food tastings, family fun and live music along Broadway from Time Warner Center to 68th Street. Tens of thousands of people flock to Lincoln Square on the first Monday after Thanksgiving to enjoy great food, more than 20 free musical and dance performances, children's activities, ice-sculpting, and special shopping promotions at area retailers. To kick off the evening's festivities, we will once again host a neighborhood tree lighting ceremony at Dante Park at Broadway and 63rd Street at 5:30pm.

NYPL Presents Alwin Nikolais’ Total Theater of Motion 10/21-1/15

The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts celebrates the centennial of one of the most versatile, innovative and influential artists of the twentieth century, Alwin Nikolais, in the multimedia exhibition Alwin Nikolais' Total Theater of Motion. The exhibit will run from October 21, 2010 through January 15, 2011 in the Vincent Astor Gallery at the Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center.

Kathleen Turner Set for Interview at NY Public Library 10/4

On Monday, October 4th, Broadway producer Elizabeth I. McCann will interview screen icon and celebrated stage actress Kathleen Turner. The event is free, and first come, first served. The program begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, entrance on 65th Street and Amsterdam Avenue.

NY’S Annual Festival of Irish Theatre To Run Sept 7 - Oct 4 in Venues Across the City

1st Irish 2010, New York's only all-Irish theatre festival, runs from September 7 to October 4. Coordinated by the New York-based Origin Theatre Company, the month-long festival features a diverse range of plays by 16 mostly contemporary, living Irish playwrights, in prominent local venues like 59E59 Theaters (two productions), The Irish Repertory Theatre (two productions), The Mint, and PS 122 (two productions), among others.
