The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced that 2013 Tony Awarda winner Billy Porter will be honored at its 10th Anniversary Gala to be held on Sunday, November 10th, at the Hudson Theater in Manhattan. The Gala will also celebrate NYMF's 10 years of creating and nurturing new musical theatre.

For the first DG Conservatory event of the fall, the Dramatists Guild is thrilled to team up with the writers who created Behind the Music-al, Kyle Ewalt and Michael Ian Walker, on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. The event will take place at the Dramatists Guild's New York office, in the Frederick Loewe Room, 1501 Broadway (between 43rd and 44th Streets), Suite 710. Performances will begin November 2nd, with the official Opening Night set for Monday, November 18th at 7 PM at The Beckett Theatre at Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street. The limited engagement is scheduled to run through January 4th. Under the direction of Steven Yuhasz, THE PREACHER AND THE SHRINK will also feature Tom Galantich (Mamma Mia!, City of Angels, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Richard Thieriot (Clybourne Park), Adria Vitlar (The Columnist), and Nicholas Urda (Love's Labour's Lost).

Brian Sills returns to Kansas City Repertory Theatre to star in David Sedaris' irreverent holiday comedy The SantaLand Diaries, about the merry misadventures of an out-of-work New York writer hired to play an elf named Crumpet in a Macy's SantaLand. The show is directed by the Rep's Producing Director Jerry Genochio and runs November 29-December 22 at Copaken Stage. Sills is well known to Rep audiences who cheered his performance as the emcee in the 2011 critically acclaimed production of Cabaret.

Haven Theatre Chicago follows their hit run of Hedwig and the Angry Inch with The Wedding Singer, October 13 - November 17, at Theater Wit, 1229 W.
