The creative team of iLLA: A Hip Hop Musical has announced that their IndieGoGo campaign has hit 30% of the funding goal. The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced Tom Kitt and Friends, a one-night-only concert event as part of NYMF 2015. Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer and lyricist Tom Kitt (Next to Normal, If/Then, High Fidelity) will celebrate his first return to NYMF since Feeling Electric with an evening of music from projects old and new. Kitt will be joined by performers from the worlds of pop and theatre at PTC Performance Space (555 W. 42nd Street, New York, NY 10036) on Monday, July 13 at 8:00 pm. After his critically acclaimed and sold-out concert honoring composer Maury Yeston, singer/songwriter Tim Realbuto (Ghostlight; Wunderkind) returns to the concert stage to honor more of his favorite composers with 'Tim Realbuto: Live In Living Color', an evening celebrating the songwriting duo of Marc Shamian and Scott Wittman, who are responsible for hits such as Hairspray and Catch Me If You Can. Kathy Evans, Founding Executive Director of Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, announced the 17 writers and 8 new musicals selected for the fifth summer of weeklong retreats. For eight consecutive weeks beginning July 5th, each writing team will have a residency in Rhinebeck, New York. Writers are provided a private home, transportation, food, and a $400 stipend. This year's writers include Obie winner Kirsten Childs, Tony nominee Elizabeth Davis, and 2015 Jonathan Larson award-winners Charlie Sohne, Tim Rosser, and Sam Willmott, who also just won the Kleban Prize.

The complete cast and creative team have been announced for The Old Globe production of William Shakespeare's delightful and romantic Twelfth Night. Rebecca Taichman, whose production of the time-traveling Time and the Conways fascinated audiences last April, is back to direct the first show of the 2015 Summer Shakespeare Festival. The Old Globe engagement will begin performances on June 21 and run through July 26, 2015, with opening night on Saturday, June 27 at 8:00 p.m., in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 50th anniversary season with Sticky Traps, a powerful new play by KC Rep's Playwright in Residence, Nathan Louis Jackson, Directed by Resident Director, Kyle Hatley. BroadwayWorld Toronto has learned that American actor Alan Mingo Jr. will play Lola in the Toronto production of KINKY BOOTS. Mingo Jr. joins Graham Scott Fleming as Charlie Price, a casting which BroadwayWorld previously reported. The Toronto production is set to begin performances at The Royal Alexandra Theatre on June 16, 2015.
