Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra's (LACO) five-concert 'Baroque Conversations' series showcasing exceptional Baroque music continues with a program of concertos by JS Bach and his second son, CPE Bach, each written for pairs of instruments - particularly fitting for a Valentine's Day concert - tonight, February 14, 2013, 7 pm, at Zipper Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles.

KINKY BOOTS Box Office Opens Today

The box office for Kinky Boots, the hotly anticipated new musical that brings together four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Music & Lyrics), is officially open for business at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street)! Kinky Boots, directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell, begins previews on Sunday, March 3, 2013, with an official opening night set for Thursday, April 4, 2013.

Shakespeare Theatre to Present 'Hero/Traitor Repertory' with CORIOLANUS and WALLENSTEIN, 3/28-6/2

The Shakespeare Theatre Company, recipient of the 2012 Regional Theatre Tony Award, probes the burdens of leadership and the price of power in its Hero/Traitor Repertory of Coriolanus and Wallenstein. In the hands of The Studio Theatre's Artistic Director David Muse and STC's Artistic Director Michael Kahn, this pairing of Shakespearean and German epics challenges the concept of control among military and government institutions. Coriolanus and Wallenstein play at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from March 28-June 2, 2013.

Adelaide Festival Centre Announces Upcoming Exhibitions

Adelaide Festival Centre will present a range of exhibitions during February in honour of the 40th anniversary of the Festival Theatre and the centenary of Her Majesty's Theatre. These exhibitions will celebrate South Australian ceramics, revered composer Richard Wagner and his great musical drama, and documentary photography showcasing the seldom seen areas of the Festival Centre.

Emmy Rossum Releases New Album SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY

Warner Bros. Records has announced that it has signed vocalist and award-winning actress Emmy Rossum to its roster. The New York City native will release her first album for the label, a collection of covers of classic songs that span the '20s to the '60s entitled SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY, today, January 29th, 2013.

Violinist Gil Morgenstern's 2012-2013 Reflections Series Continues, 2/26

Violinist and artistic director Gil Morgenstern's acclaimed Reflections Series continues the 2012-2013 season on Tuesday, February 26 and Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 7:30pm with The Voice of the Violin, Part 2. Celebrating five years of innovative programming in its intimate home at WMP Concert Hall (31 East 28th Street, NYC), Morgenstern will be joined by pianist Benjamin Hochman. The Voice of the Violin, Part 2 expands on the theme of Gil Morgenstern's opening concert at WMP in 2010. Mr. Morgenstern has crafted a second program showcasing the singularly expressive range of the violin and the diverse manner in which composers have exploited it. The program includes: Beethoven's Violin Sonata No. 1 in D Major; Webern's Four Pieces for violin and piano, Op. 7; selections from Bach's Partita in E Major for solo violin; Eugene Ysaÿe' Obsession: Prelude from Sonata No. 2 for solo violin; selections from Bartók's Improvisations on Hungarian Peasant Songs; and Ravel's Tzigane.
