Fifth Season of Syfy's FACE OFF to Premiere 8/13

Unexpected twists and turns await in the fifth season of Syfy's highly-rated and acclaimed unscripted series,Face Off, debuting Tuesday, August 13 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Eight talented and up-and-coming special effects make-up artists arrive to the competition in Los Angeles to a shocking revelation -- among their competition are eight more contestants from past seasons of Face Off, all hungry for a chance at redemption.

Music Theatre of Wichita continues its 42nd summer season with a new production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic The King and I, starring Broadway veterans Kim Huber as Anna, Thom Sesma as The King, and Alan Ariano as The Kralahome. Directed by Mark Madama (25th season at MTWichita) and choreographed by Peggy Hickey (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), the production plays July 10 - 14 at the Century II Performing Arts Center in Wichita, Kansas. BWW Reviews: It's Witty Romance in SHE STOOPS TO CONQUER

Independent Shakespeare Co. bookends its 2013 season with two witty romantic comedies, Oliver Goldsmith's SHE STOOPS TO CONQUER and Shakespeare's AS YOU LIKE IT, to offset a terrifyingly intense and bloody version of MACBETH during this summer's Griffith Park Free Shakespeare Festival.

Shakespeare Theatre to Stage 'Free For All' MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, 8/20-9/1

The Shakespeare Theatre Company's annual Free For All is a much-loved Washington tradition, offering free Shakespeare performances to the general public for the past 22 years. This year the beloved tradition launches the Company's 2013-2014 Season by reviving Much Ado About Nothing, initially presented during the 2011-2012 Season with original direction by Ethan McSweeny. Much Ado About Nothing will run at STC's Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from August 20-September 1, 2013. Resident Assistant Director Jenny Lord will direct this delightful summer comedy for residents and visitors to D.C.

Royal Southern Brotherhood to Play Bridge Street Live, 8/24

Ruf Records band, Royal Southern Brotherhood, which consists of Cyril Neville (percussion and vocals), Devon Allman (guitar and vocals), Mike Zito (guitar and vocals), Charlie Wooton (bass) and Yonrico Scott (drums), continues to tour in support of the group's debut self-titled CD, produced by Grammy-winner Jim Gaines. Ruf Records is distributed in the U.S. by the Allegro Corporation.

Creators of LES MISERABLES Among Recording Academy Honorees; Ceremony Set for Tonight

Songwriters/performing artists Ashford & Simpson, GRAMMY-winning violinist Joshua Bell, GRAMMY-winning artist Melissa Etheridge, GRAMMY-winning creators of 'LES MISERABLES' - Alain Boublil, Herbert Kretzmer and Claude-Michel Schonberg - and R&B singer/songwriter Trey Songz are recipients of the New York Chapter Recording Academy Honors 2013. The event, which will attract recording artists, key entertainment executives and community leaders, will be hosted tonight, June 25, 2013, at 6 p.m. at 583 Park Avenue. This gala will support the Chapter's ongoing advocacy, education and professional development programs.

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe Presents EUGENIE GRANDET, Aug 2-26

EugEnie Grandet, an adaptation of Balzac's classic story of love, greed and betrayal, will play the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2013, at Assembly One George Square from 2 - 26 August. This will be the first ever stage production in English of this French classic.

BWW Reviews: SECRET GARDEN at St. Edwards University is Haunting and Beautiful

The last few times I've seen a production at St. Edwards University's Mary Moody Northern Theatre, I've had to remind myself that I'm viewing a show featuring a cast of mostly college students. Every time, the production is of professional quality, and their current production of The Secret Garden is no exception. All audience members are bound to be mesmerized by the physical beauty of the stagecraft and the incredible performances.

The Young Presidents and More Set for 1st Annual Music Cures Benefit at The Cutting Room, 7/25

On July 25th at The Cutting Room in New York City, a poignant glimpse into the life of Glen Campbell will be shared when James Keach, producer of the Oscar winning 'Walk the Line,' presents a clip from his forthcoming documentary on superstar Campbell, who recently announced his battle with Alzheimer's. Campbell's children, Ashley and Shannon Campbell, will open the evening with their band Victoria Ghost, and headliners The Young Presidents -featuring Mitch Kaneff and Jake Hertzog - will perform songs from their latest album. Joining them will be rock luminaries Ivan Neville, Anton Fig, Blondie Chaplin, Corey Glover, Adam Ezraand others.
