KINKY BOOTS OBCR Tops Billboard's Cast Album Chart

The Original Broadway Cast Recording of Kinky Boots, the new smash hit musical that brings together four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Music & Lyrics), has debuted at #1 on the Billboard's Top Broadway Albums Chart and at #51 on Billboard's Top 200 Chart. This is the highest charting Broadway cast recording in over two years. The Original Broadway Cast Recording of Kinky Boots is produced by Cyndi Lauper, Stephen Oremus, William Wittman and Sammy James, Jr.

San Jose's 2013 Bay Area High School Musical 'Top Honor' Awards Winners Announced

San Jose Stage Company and Broadway San Jose are pleased to announce the winners of the Bay Area High School Musical Theatre Awards. Two Bay Area students, Rodd Fahardi from Los Gatos High School and Myha'la Herrold from Archbishop Mitty High School, were also chosen for Outstanding Performance by an Actor and Actress in a musical to participate in the National High School Musical Theatre Awards: 2013 JIMMY Awards, where they will perform at The Minskoff Theatre, the Broadway stage that currently houses The Lion King.

Jane Lynch to Appear on THE TODAY SHOW Tomorrow

Emmy Award-winning actress Jane Lynch, who stars in the hit FOX television show "Glee" as ruthless cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester and who recently made her Broadway debut as tyrannical orphanage matron Miss Hannigan in ANNIE, will be a guest on NBC's "Today" tomorrow, Tuesday, June 4, in the 10:00 AM hour. In the New York area, "Today" airs on WNBC-TV Channel 4. Check local listings.

Directed by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (Contact, The Producers, The Scottsboro Boys), with music and lyrics by Grammy and Tony Award nominee Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party, The Addams Family), and a book by Grammy and BAFTA Award nominee John August (Frankenweenie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), BIG FISH begins performances on Thursday, September 5, 2013 and will open Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Neil Simon Theatre. Tickets for BIG FISH range from $49 - $142. The playing schedule for BIG FISH is as follows: Monday through Friday at 8pm with matinees on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There will be no 2pm matinee on Wednesday, September 11. Beginning October 7, 2013, the playing schedule for BIG FISH is as follows: Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm and Wednesday at 8pm with matinees on Wednesday at 2pm, Saturday at 2pm and Sunday at 3pm.

Laura Osnes & Santino Fontana to Host National High School Musical Theater Awards, 7/1

The Tony-nominated stars of the Broadway musical Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA -- Laura Osnes (Cinderella) and Santino Fontana (the Prince) --will host the 5th Annual National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA) on Monday, July 1 at the Minskoff Theater on Broadway. Student winners from 31 regional awards will compete in the national event for the Jimmy Awards, named after Broadway theater owner and producer James M. ("Jimmy") Nederlander.

In 1994, Bette Midler returned to New York after nearly 20 years in Los Angeles, and started the New York Restoration Project, a non-profit organization devoted to bringing abandoned and neglected parks, gardens, and open spaces in all five boroughs back to life. NYRP includes the beautiful New Leaf Cafe in Fort Tryon Park as part of its success, and is committed to helping restore parks and gardens devastated by Hurricane Sandy. The producers of I'LL EAT YOU LAST, Bette Midler's critically acclaimed return to Broadway by Tony Award winner John Logan, directed by Tony Award winner Joe Mantello, are pleased to announce that the world premiere production has recouped its initial Broadway investment of $2.4 million in just over eight weeks at the Booth Theatre (222 West 45th Street).
