Dan Knechtges (Lysistrata Jones, Xanadu) will direct a January 8-9 industry reading of the new musical GLORY RIDE. Tony Award nominee Josh Young (Jesus Christ Superstar), Alison Luff (Matilda), Quinn van Antwerp (Jersey Boys), and Herndon Lackey (Les Miserables) will lead the cast.
Victor Hugo's monumental romantic/gothic novel of the mid 15th century The Hunchback of Notre Dame centers in, around and on top of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France. The new musical of the same name written by Peter Parnell, Stephen Schwartz and Alan Menken, which is receiving its U.S. premiere at La Jolla Playhouse, capitalizes on this fact. Alexander Dodge's massive set of the cathedral replete with gargoyles, multiple statues, stained-glass window and huge overhanging bells is a work of art that dominates the action onstage in front of it. In fact, it is impossible to take your eyes off at least a part of it for a split second.

Produced in association with Paper Mill Playhouse, by special arrangement with Disney Theatrical Productions, The Hunchback of Notre Dame will run October 26 - December 7, 2014 in the Playhouse's Mandell Weiss Theatre.
The York Theatre Company, and its acclaimed Developmental Reading Series, present the New York premiere of three new musicals: Mark Felt, Superstar with book, music and lyrics by Joshua Rosenblum; Paris Through the Window, with book & lyrics by Charles Osborne and music by Leo Hurley; and We Foxes with book, lyrics and music by Ryan Scott Oliver at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (Entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). With book, music, and lyrics by Michael Roberts, GREED's exploits range from the outrageous Ponzi scheme of 1910 to the subtle sales pitches of retirement planners and mortgage bundlers. With songs like "A Little Juice," "Inside Information," and "The Ballad of Jamie Dimon," GREED takes aim at the obvious, and not so obvious, targets.

Theatre 167 will present the Manhattan Premiere of THE JACKSON HEIGHTS TRILOGY, a rotating repertory of three plays about the Queens, New York neighborhood famous for being the world's most diverse community. Created by 18 playwrights and starring a company of 37 actors playing 93 multicultural roles, the plays were conceived and will be directed by Ari Laura Kreith. The trilogy will inaugurate the newly renovated 777 Theatre, located at 777 8th Avenue at 47th Street beginning February 8th. While each of the plays has been presented individually in Queens to critical acclaim, this is the first time any of these plays will be seen in Manhattan and the first time they are being presented together in repertory, where audiences can see them individually or all in one day.
Voting is now underway for the Connecticut Awards and continues until December 31, 2012. Winners will be announced in early January.
