Musical Web Series THE HINTERLANDS Nominated for Four IAWTV Awards; Ceremony Set for 1/7

THE HINTERLANDS, a free online musical web series about a bullied gay teen, was nominated for four International Academy of Web Television (IAWTV) Awards, including "Best Dramatic Series." Connor Russell (Disney's Aladdin world premiere), star of THE HINTERLANDS, was nominated for "Best Male Performance in a Drama." Danny Larsen and Michelle Elliott, the co-creators of the show, were nominated for "Best Writing (Drama)." Mr. Larsen was also nominated for "Best Cinematography." The IAWTV Awards recognize the best in original online programming and honor the content creators driving today's rapidly evolving digital entertainment industry. The 2014 IAWTV Awards will take place on January 7, 2014 in Las Vegas.

Paper Mill Playhouse Junior All Stars to Bring Cheer to Special Needs Children, 12/18 & 20

Paper Mill Playhouse, one of the country's premier not-for-profit theaters, is the place where American musical theater is celebrated, cherished, and pushed in exciting new directions, is proud to announce the Junior All Stars Holiday Tour. The Paper Mill Playhouse Junior All Stars are a selective group of 9 to 12 year old performers who, as a part of their training, go out into the community and share their talents with schools, senior residences and centers for children with disabilities.

2014 NAMT Festival Now Accepting Submissions

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) is accepting submissions for its 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals taking place in New York City at New World Stages on October 23 and 24, 2014. Submission information and the online application are available at www.namt.org/festival. NAMT is looking for great new musicals that represent the exciting diversity and breadth of the future of musical theatre.

Paper Mill Playhouse Welcomes Bea Daggett and Laura Green to Senior Management Team

Paper Mill Playhouse has announced the appointment of Laura Green as the theater's new Production Manager and Bea Daggett, leading the historic theater's development team as Director of External and Strategic Affairs. "We are thrilled to add Bea Daggett and Laura Green to our stellar senior management team," stated Todd Schmidt, Paper Mill Playhouse's Managing Director. "Bea and Laura are experienced professionals that will enhance the work that Paper Mill Playhouse produces onstage and beyond. These appointments will allow the theater to continue to grow and thrive."

David Garrison, Betsy Morgan, John Treacy Egan, Ethan Haberfield and Tyler Moran Star in Paper Mill Playhouse's OLIVER! Beg. Tonight

Paper Mill Playhouse will continue its 75th Anniversary Season with the classic Charles Dickens musical Oliver!, with a holiday 'twist' for the entire family. With a book, music and lyrics by Lionel Bart, Oliver! will be directed by Paper Mill Playhouse Producing Artistic Director Mark S. Hoebee with original choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter. Oliver! will feature David Garrison (Fagin), best known for his role as Steve Rhoades on the hit television series Married...with Children, Betsy Morgan (Nancy), John Treacy Egan (Mr. Bumble), Jose Llana (Bill Sikes), David Hess (MR. Brownlow), Ethan Haberfield (Artful Dodger) and introducing Tyler Moran as Oliver. Oliver! will also feature 16 local boys from across the state of New Jersey who auditioned from a pool of over 200. Oliver! will play the Millburn, New Jersey theater from tonight, November 21 through December 29. The official press opening night is Sunday, December 1, 2013, at 7:00pm.

THE HINTERLANDS, a free musical web series about teenage gay bullying, officially launched on October 28, 2013 at a special event held at The New 42nd Street Studios. At the event, special guest speaker James Clementi of The Tyler Clementi Foundation shared some touching words about his younger brother Tyler and underscored the importance of being a light for young people who were struggling with thoughts of suicide. Connor Russell (Disney's Aladdin world premiere), star of THE HINTERLANDS, performed "Like It Here," a song from the fifth episode of the series. Katie Thompson (GIANT), backed by 13 students from the Professional Performing Arts School in Midtown, sang "Worthy," which will be part of the sixth episode of THE HINTERLANDS. Polly Lee Stars in Abingdon Theatre's FIX ME, JESUS, Beg. Tonight

Abingdon Theatre Company-which has produced 81 new American plays since 1993-launches its 21st Season with FIX ME, JESUS, a world-premiere play by Helen Sneed, with previews set to begin tonight, November 1, prior to an official press opening November 10 in Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex's Dorothy Streslin Theatre (312 West 36th Street). Performances run through November 24.
