Breakdown Services has been working with casting directors since it opened its doors 40 years ago. When founder Gary Marsh attended the most recent CSA Artios awards and heard an announcement about a new collaborative program at Syracuse University's Tepper Semester in the Department of Drama at the College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) that would help train people to become casting directors, it appeared to be the perfect partnership.
In 42nd Street, the latest production tap dancing its way on stage at the John W. Engeman Theater through June 17th, Peggy Sawyer is that girl. A rookie actress from Allentown, PA, she quite literally bumps into the opportunity of a lifetime - the chance to be part of big time director Julian Marsh's new musical. Darien Crago is instantly likeable as Peggy - bright-eyed and full of positivity. And she has every reason to be that way - the girl can dance circles around anyone without breaking a sweat (especially in the delightful dance competition between Crago and Drew Humphrey on a city street). In the right place at the right time, she gets a part in the show and more off-stage drama than she bargained for.

OLD HICKORY is a story about a man with a little problem - two really -a fearsome ex-wife who won't leave him alone and a knife . . . and he's been having these thoughts. Set today in the mountains of West Virginia, Old Hickory is a ‘hillbilly gothic' comedy about one man's journey to his moment of decision, with his trusty knife (and the guidance of a mountain shaman named Catfish).
