New York Live Arts to Present THE INKOMATI (DIS)CORD, 9/25-26; HA!, 9/27-28

New York Live Arts will kick off their 2013-2014 presenting season with the U.S. premiere of Boyzie Cekwana and Panaibra Canda's The Inkomati (dis)cord September 25 and 26 at 7:30pm, followed by the NYC premiere of Bouchra Ouizguen's Ha! September 27 and 28 at 7:30pm. Co-presented with the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF)'s Crossing the Line 2013 festival, both productions feature new, diverse work from international artists that cultivates dialogue among the public and artists alike.

Ted Larsen's SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED Metal Constructions Exhibition Opens Today at David Richard Gallery, Santa Fe

David Richard Gallery will present an exhibition of the most recent constructions by Ted Larsen comprised of salvaged and repurposed metal that features sixteen new wall-hung, floor and pedestal pieces. The exhibition, 'Some Assembly Required,' will be presented today, August 2 through September 7, 2013 with an opening reception on Friday, August 2 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the gallery located on 544 South Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87501, phone 505-983-9555 in the Santa Fe Railyard Arts District.

Carol Tandava Henning's BLOOD ON THE VEIL to Return to Write Act Repertory Theatre, 8/4-9/29

TANDAVA ARTS is pleased to announce the return engagement of Carol Tandava Henning's BLOOD ON THE VEIL directed by Jeffrey Fiske. BLOOD ON THE VEIL will play an 8 -week limited engagement at the Write Act Repertory Theatre (309 East 26th Street, NYC 10010). Performances begin Sunday, August 4 and continue Sunday, September 29. Opening Night is Sunday, August 4 (8 p.m.). (There is no performance on Sunday, September 1, Labor Day Weekend.)

Box Office Opens Today for Ocean State Theatre's 2013-14 Season

Ocean State Theatre Company (OSTC), which recently concluded its Inaugural Season and is currently producing Legally Blonde The Musical, is proud to announce the opening of the box office for single ticket sales for their first full season in its new state-of-the-Art Theatre in Warwick. BBC America to Co-Produce BBC One's New Series ATLANTIS

BBC AMERICA announced today the channel will co-produce new thrilling fantasy drama Atlantis to premiere as part of Supernatural Saturday in Fall 2013. Atlantis, created by Howard Overman (Misfits), Julian Murphy (Merlin) and Johnny Capps (Merlin), is set in a time of legendry heroes and mythical creatures. The action packed (13 x 60) series brings to life the vast store of Greek myths and legends re-imagined for a new generation. Atlantis is an Urban Myth Films production for BBC Cymru Wales co-produced with BBC AMERICA.

BETWEEN THE SEAS FESTIVAL Opens Today at The Wild Project

With highlights including the world premiere of Greek playwright Yiannis Mavritsakis' 'Redshift,' the multimedia/ music production 'Suite Camus' collaborated on by artists from France, Germany and Algeria, the North American premiere of 'Eyes' by Israeli based The Arab-Hebrew Theater Center, Portuguese choreographer's Pedro Goucha Gomes' 'Amongst Millions' - a new dance that tackles the current European crisis and many more - the BETWEEN THE SEAS FESTIVAL, an annual celebration of contemporary performing arts from the Mediterranean, opens today, July 22nd, and runs through July 28th at The Wild Project (195 East 3rd Street, New York, NY.) This year marks the third year for the BETWEEN THE SEAS FESTIVAL.

Aziz Sahmaoui and University of Gnawa Kick Off 2013 North American Tour Today

If you have an expectation, Moroccan multi-instrumentalist Aziz Sahmaoui is going to defy if. Schooled in the music of his native Maghreb, he's a man who's never believed in limits. With his band, the University of Gnawa, he blends gnawa, the healing trance music from Morocco, with West African music, jazz, rock into a heady, beautiful groove - and now he's bringing the sound to North America for a series of dates in the US and Canada, giving people the chance to experience what Britain's Independent called 'the best gnawa you will hear.'

FIAF Announces Crossing the Line Festival 2013, 9/19

The French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF), New York's premier French cultural center, today announces the full program for Crossing the Line 2013, the seventh annual edition of its highly acclaimed fall festival, presenting interdisciplinary works and performances by artists from around the world. Born in India and raised in Paris, Shivalingappa 'erases cultural boundaries with her lightness, wit, and musicality' (The New Yorker). Her vivid interpretations of the classical South Indian dance style, Kuchipudi, are steeped in expressive narrative with flowing lines, nimble leaps, and percussive footwork. Joined by four master musicians, Shivalingappa presents the U.S. premiere of Akasha, a program showcasing her artistry with five solos, all inspired by ancient Hindu poems.
