The Pasadena Playhouse presents the hit Broadway musical revue SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE - THE SONGS OF LEIBER & STOLLER. Directed by Jeffrey Polk, performances will begin tonight, September 17 through October 13, with an official press opening on Sunday, September 22, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. at The Pasadena Playhouse. AEG Live has just announced the touring cast for the southern gothic, supernatural musical Ghost Brothers of Darkland County, libretto by Stephen King, with music and lyrics by John Mellencamp and musical direction by T Bone Burnett. The show will be appearing in 19 cities throughout the Midwest and Southeast beginning October 10 in Bloomington, IN, and ending November 6 in Grand Rapids, MI. The new Broadway Musical, After Midnight, directed and choreographed by Warren Carlyle and featuring the big-band sounds of nine-time Grammy Award-winner Wynton Marsalis' Jazz at Lincoln Center All-Stars, will begin previews on Friday, October 18, 2013 at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 W 47th St) with an official opening night set for Sunday, November 3, 2013. Tony Award-winning director Mary Zimmerman brings her unique vision to the world premiere stage adaptation of 'The Jungle Book' now at the Huntington Theatre Company of Boston through October 13

Mary Zimmerman returns to the Huntington Theatre Company for The Jungle Book, a world premiere stage adaptation produced in association with Chicago's Goodman Theatre. The production premiered in Chicago on June 21 and plays at the Huntington tonight, September 7 - October 6, 2013.

WORKSHOP THEATER COMPANY has announced the world premiere production of Lou-Lou Igbokwe's IYOM, directed by Jessica Creane. IYOM will play a four-week limited engagement at WorkShop Theater Company's Main Stage (312 West 36th Street, 4th Floor). Performances begin Thursday, September 19 and continue Saturday, October 12. Buran Theatre will return to The Brick after their recent national tour for a post-tour extension of their original theatre piece Nightmares: A Demonstration of the Sublime-which premiered at the theater in January. According to an inside source, Stephen Brian Patterson has taken over as 'Captain Walker' in TOMMY at the Stratford Festival. Jeremy Kushnier left the role on August 4. Patterson joins Robert Markus and Paul Nolan in Des McAnuff's new Stratford Festival rock musical, The Who's Tommy, at the Avon Theatre in Ontario through October 19.
