The Alliance Theatre presents Moby Dick, a new aerial and acrobatic take on the Herman Melville novel by the Tony Award-winning Lookingglass Theatre Company.  The Chicago-based Lookingglass Theatre last presented on the Alliance Stage in 2010 with their imaginative production, Lookingglass Alice. Moby Dick is adapted and directed by David Catlin and will run on the Alliance Stage October 12 - 30, 2016. Opening night is Today, October 19, 2016. Filled with laughs and anarchic asides, as well as a healthy dose of audience participation, Theatre J has an unqualified hit in Aaron Posner's Life Sucks [Or the Present Ridiculous]. Here we have Posner's thoroughly irreverent, Jewish take on Uncle Vanya, Russian playwright Anton Chekov's classic tale of unrequited love and unfulfilled lives. Forget the theatre history lecture, however; this is pure slapstick at Chekhov's expense and nothing to be intimidated by in the least.

Monica West has joined the cast of the kef theatrical production of IT'S ONLY KICKBALL, STUPID -- the new play by Caroline Prugh and directed by Adam Fitzgerald. She will step in for Autum Hurlbert, who had to leave the production do to scheduling conflicts, for performances through Sunday, September 14 at The Hartley House (413 West 46th Street).

Directed by Sean Daniels, this fast-paced whodunit begins performances tonight, October 22 and runs in the Elaine P. Wilson Mainstage through November 17.
