Craig Bierko Joins Cast Of FILTHY TALK FOR TROUBLED TIMES at MCC, 6/5

MCC Theater (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, Artistic Directors; William Cantler, Associate Artistic Director; Blake West, Executive Director) announced today that Craig Bierko has joined the cast of Playwright-in-Residence Neil LaBute's Filthy Talk for Troubled Times: Scenes of Intolerance, which the company will present for three nights only this week.

The New School for Drama Names Joe Mantello Artist-in-Residence

The New School for Drama has announced that the award-winning director Joe Mantello will be the distinguished artist-in-residence for the 2010-2011 academic year. Mantello's directing credits include the wildly popular Wicked, as well as Assassins and Take Me Out, each of which earned him a Tony Award for directing.

Beasley, Tyrrell, et all Set for IMAGINARY INVALID, 5/27-6/20

Emmy nominee Allyce Beasley and Broadway veteran John Tyrrell will be appearing in the Schoolhouse theater production of Moliere's The Imaginary Invalid.Performances take place May 27-June 20 in Croton Falls New York. The performance will be directed by Pamela Moller Kareman.

Stiles, Cannavale et al. Join Long, Knight in MCC's FILTHY TALK Reading, 6/3

MCC Theater (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, Artistic Directors; William Cantler, Associate Artistic Director; Blake West, Executive Director) announced today that Bobby Cannavale, Johnny Galecki, Josh Hamilton and Julia Stiles have joined Playwright-in-Residence Neil LaBute's ‘shorts' series, Filthy Talk for Troubled Times: Scenes of Intolerance, which the company will present for three nights only next week. These actors join the previously announced Alice Eve, Justin Long and T.R. Knight.

2ST's THE ELABORATE ENTRANCE OF CHAD DEITY Opens 5/20

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) presents the New York premiere of THE ELABORATE ENTRANCE OF CHAD DEITY, a new play written by Kristoffer Diaz and directed by Edward Torres. The show stars Usman Ally, Terence Archie, Desmin Borges, CHRISTIAN LITKE, and Michael T. Weiss (NBC's 'The Pretender'). YEAR ZERO and BACHELORETTE Set for Second Stage Theatre's Summer Season

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has announced the two plays which will be presented as part of the company's eighth annual Second Stage Theatre Uptown Series this summer: the New York premiere of Michael Golamco's Year Zero, directed by Will Frears, and the world premiere of Leslye Headland's Bachelorette, directed by Trip Cullman.

Eve, Long, Knight et al. Lead LaBute Benefit Readings for MCC, 6/3 - 6/5

MCC Theater (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, Artistic Directors; William Cantler, Associate Artistic Director; Blake West, Executive Director) announced today that Playwright-in-Residence Neil LaBute's three special benefit staged readings of his previously unseen ‘shorts' series, Filthy Talk for Troubled Times: Scenes of Intolerance, will feature actors Alice Eve, Justin Long and T.R. Knight, with additional cast members to be announced shortly. The readings will take place on Thursday, June 3, Friday, June 4 and Saturday, June 5, 2010, 7:00 p.m., at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC). Proceeds will benefit MCC Theater's Playwrights' Coalition program, free PlayLab reading series, and literary development activities.

The original musical was conceived and directed by Michael Halberstam, adapted by Austin Pendleton with music by Joshua Schmidt and lyrics by Jan Tranen. The Lincoln Center production will be directed by Halberstam. Performances begin on Thursday, April 7, 2011 and opens on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street, New York City).

Aglet Theatre's FIFTY WORDS Concludes 4/17

Aglet Theatre Company will present a staged reading of Michael Weller's searing marital drama 'Fifty Words' on April 10 at Berkshire Theatre Festival's Unicorn Theatre and on April 17 at TriArts' Bok Gallery.
