The Museum of Broadway's inaugural special exhibit, The American Theatre As Seen by Hirschfeld, has been extended by popular demand.

NINA-hunters rejoice… The new Museum of Broadway in Times Square's inaugural special exhibition, “The American Theatre As Seen By Hirschfeld,” has been extended, by popular demand.

The American Theatre as seen by Hirschfeld 1962-2002 showcases Hirschfeld’s greatest theater work from five decades, including some of the most important productions from the last sixty years. It will be available exclusively online and at The Museum of Broadway starting November 15.

This coming season brings distinguished soloists, orchestras, chamber ensembles, and conductors from across the globe, showcasing them at the height of their artistry.

Approximately 15 drawings by the 18th-century German artist Matthias Buchinger (1674-1739), who was born without hands or feet, will be presented in Wordplay: Matthias Buchinger's Drawings from the Collection of Ricky Jay, opening at the Metropolitan Museum on January 8, 2016.

On Thursday, January 21, The Metropolitan Museum of Art will host illusionist, actor, and writer Ricky Jay and New York Times architecture critic Michael Kimmelman in a discussion, Wordplay: Matthias Buchinger's Drawings from the Collection of Ricky Jay, about the life and work of Matthias Buchinger, a German artist, magician, and musician.

Over the past three seasons, The Metropolitan Museum of Art has seen some of the most intriguing and unexpected performance offerings around— often inviting audiences to engage with their surroundings as well as the performances. Leading with curiosity and innovation, the 2015-2016 season of Met Museum Presents continues this line of inquiry featuring a roster of powerful performances, new commissions, and fearless artists, all taking the Metropolitan Museum as a starting point.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Landmarks Law, the hour-long documentary Treasures of New York: The Landmarks Preservation Movement, premiering tonight, February 3 at 7 p.m. on WLIW21 and Sunday, February 8 at 8 p.m. on THIRTEEN.

CYNTHIA-REEVES launches its Fall 2013 art fair lineup with Art Toronto, Canada's premier modern and contemporary art fair, opening with a VIP preview on October 24th and running through Monday, October 28th. Expanding its international initiatives in both public art and art fair showings, CYNTHIA-REEVES will proudly debut artworks by two fellow Canadian artists, Catherine Farish and Yechel Gagnon, along with work on paper and sculpture from American artist, Jonathan Prince, and award winning documentary photography by Chilean artist Tomas Munita, among other featured artists.

Programs will be presented in conjunction with the new exhibition 'Making Room: New Models for Housing New Yorkers,' offering innovative solutions to New York City's emerging housing needs, and 'Currier & Ives and Other Winter Tales,' displaying the Museum's revered collection of prints by the renowned New York firm of Currier & Ives.
