Josh Rhodes and More to Take Part in GUYS AND DOLLS Panel at Asolo Rep

Asolo Rep presents the first Inside Asolo Rep of the season on Wednesday, November 9 at 11am. This insightful panel discussion will feature GUYS AND DOLLS Director Josh Rhodes, Lighting Designer Paul Miller and Set Designer Lee Savage. The artists will share their creative processes and what it takes to bring this iconic masterpiece to life.

Robert Sean Leonard, Ken Ludwig, Josh Rhodes Slated for The Old Globe's 2017 Summer Season

The Old Globe today announced the remaining productions in its 2017 Summer Season, including a brand-new comedy, Ken Ludwig's Robin Hood!, and a Summer Shakespeare Festival lineup featuring Robert Sean Leonard in the title role of the towering history play Richard II, directed by Erica Schmidt. Shakespeare's exhilarating tragedy Hamlet follows, directed by Old Globe Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director Barry Edelstein, one of the leading American authorities on the works of Shakespeare.

Asolo Repertory Theatre Presents Touring Production of THE TRAGEDY OF HAMLET

Asolo Repertory Theatre proudly presents an FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training touring production of THE TRAGEDY OF HAMLET. This brand new production, which will be presented during the 400th anniversary year of Shakespeare's death, is adapted and directed by Justin Lucero, director of the FSU/Asolo Conservatory's hit 2015 production of The Liar. This seventh annual educational touring production, THE TRAGEDY OF HAMLET, will tour schools and community venues throughout Sarasota and the state of Florida, from Tallahassee to Miami, from September 27 through November 22, 2016. There will be a special performance for educators, press, and the public on Today, September 30 at 6pm in the Cook Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts.

 Asolo Rep proudly announces the final production of its 2016-17 season: TWENTY THOUSAND LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA,  the stunning new theatrical re-imagination of Jules Verne's classic deep sea tale created by Craig Francis and Rick Miller, who will direct Asolo Rep's production, and presented by Canada's family-focused entertainment production company Kidoons and WYRD Productions.

Asolo Rep, in collaboration with Tony Award® winner Kenneth Waissman (Grease, Torch Song Trilogy) presents the world premiere of the new, Broadway-bound musical JOSEPHINE. Opening tonight, Friday, May 6 at 8pm, the production runs at the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts, through May 29. Grammy® nominated, multi-platinum selling recording artist Deborah Cox (Broadway's Aida, Jekyll & Hyde; vocals for the Whitney Houston Lifetime movie Whitney) stars as the legendary African-American performer Josephine Baker. Asolo Rep to Stage AH, WILDERNESS! This Winter

Asolo Rep continues its 2015-16 season with quintessential American playwright Eugene O'Neill's sentimental comedy AH, WILDERNESS!, directed by Greg Leaming, associate artistic director of Asolo Rep and the director of the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training. The Tony Award, Pulitzer and Nobel Prize winner's sole comedy previews on Wednesday, January 20 and Thursday, January 21 at 8pm, opens Friday, January 22 at 8pm and runs in rotating repertory through Sunday, April 10 in the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts. 

Asolo Rep to Stage U.S. Premiere of HETTY FEATHER

Asolo Repertory Theatre proudly announces the final production of its 2015-16 season, the U.S. premiere of the U.K. phenomenon HETTY FEATHER, Jacqueline Wilson's wildly popular U.K. novel adapted into a thrilling theatrical masterpiece by Emma Reeves. A 2015 Olivier Award nominee for Best Family Entertainment, HETTY FEATHER will have one preview on Thursday, June 2 at 7pm, open Friday, June 3 at 7pm and run through Sunday, June 26 in the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts. Asolo Rep's production will feature the entire West End cast, starring Phoebe Thomas as Hetty. Sally Cookson, who directed the West End production, will direct Asolo Rep's production.

Asolo Rep to Present LIVING ON LOVE

Asolo Rep proudly presents the regional premiere of two-time Tony Award-winner Joe DiPietro's effervescent music-infused comedy, LIVING ON LOVE, which premiered on Broadway in the spring of 2015. Directed by Peter Amster, who helmed last season's box office record-breaking production of The Matchmaker, previews are January 13 and 14 at 8pm, the production opens on Friday, January 15 at 8pm and runs in rotating repertory through Thursday, February 25 in the Mertz Theatre. 

Asolo Rep Proudly to Stage ALL THE WAY

Asolo Repertory Theatre proudly kicks off its winter repertory season with the 2014 Tony Award winner for Best Play, Pulitzer Prize-winner Robert Schenkkan's political drama ALL THE WAY. Asolo Rep's production will be directed by Emily Sophia Knapp, who served as the associate director of the Broadway, American Repertory Theatre, Seattle Rep and world premiere Oregon Shakespeare Festival productions. Hailed by NPR as a 'sensational night of theatre,' previews for ALL THE WAY are January 6 and 7 at 8pm, opening night is January 8 at 8pm, and the production runs in rotating rep through Saturday, April 9.
