The Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF) presentstheir Thirteenth Annual Season AWARDS CEREMONY on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 7pm at St. Luke's Theatre, 308 W. 46th Street, NYC. Tickets are $15 and are available now at www.midtownfestival.org or by phone at 866-811-4111. Each paid admission includes tickets redeemable for a refreshment comprising beer, wine, or soft drinks. Doors open at 7; awards begin at 8.

The Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF) has announced the lineup of full-length plays and musicals for its thirteenthseason, running from July 16 to August 5, 2012 at the June Havoc Theatre, 312 W. 36th Street, NYC, 1st floor; and the Dorothy Strelsin Theatre, 312 W. 36th Street, 1st floor. Tickets are $15-18. Readings are free. Tickets are available at www.midtownfestival.org or by phone at 866-811-4111. The Festival also offers various group discounts and package passes, good for full-length and short plays.

Spend a day with Virgil Thomson-one of the most remarkable, influential and controversial artists in the history of contemporary American music. From his bed at the Chelsea Hotel in New York City, Thomson ran the world of music as chief music critic for the Herald Tribune. The 'Father of American Music,' Thomson paved the way for his contemporaries who included Aaron Copland, Paul Bowles, Igor Stravinsky, Mark Blitzstein, Ned Rorem and Leonard Bernstein, among many others. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his score of the film Louisiana Story.
