On Sunday night December 16, The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater honored its longtime impresario, Paul Szilard, at a pre-performance ceremony and post-performance reception at City Center, which also celebrated his 95th birthday.
West Side Story celebrates its 50th anniversary at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris. Opening on November 20, the production of the celebrated 1957 show revives Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim's score and Jerome Robbins' conception and choreography, with a book by Arthur Laurents-who will attend the full dress rehearsal on November 18.
