Today HighTide Festival Theatre's Artistic Director Steven Atkinson announces the complete line-up for the eighth HighTide Festival, taking place April 10 - 19 2014 (Press Day Saturday April 12) in the idyllic Suffolk market town of Halesworth. Tickets are on sale now.

Michael Pennington, two-time Olivier Award nominee, an artist of international stature and one of England's greatest classical actors, will play the title role in William Shakespeare's tragedy King Lear directed by Arin Arbus. For the second production in Theatre for a New Audience's inaugural season at its first permanent home, the new Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place in Brooklyn, Mr. Pennington leads a company of 22 actors. King Lear begins previews March 14 for an opening March 27 and a run through May 4.

Following two previous much-acclaimed seasons of American drama, the Ustinov now presents The American Season 2014: three brand new works, all UK premieres. The three plays are Dan LeFranc's THE BIG MEAL, directed by Michael Boyd, Keith Huff's gritty two-hander, A STEADY RAIN, directed by David Grindley and Lynn Nottage's multi award-winning INTIMATE APPAREL, directed by Laurence Boswell.

Alan Cumming, who will soon return to Broadway in Cabaret, tweeted today that he would be performing on tonight's episode of Colbert Report's Carol Week. A slew of Broadway favorites will return to Broadway in the upcoming theatre season, including Alan Cumming, who will will star as 'the Emcee' in Cabaret (set to open at Studio 54 on April 24, 2014).

Quintessence's celebrated full throttle actor and text driven approach to the classics will be further enhanced by an Elizabethan Courtyard style staging, complete with groundlings, and a fast and furious two hour abridgement of HAMLET. Roundabout Theatre Company has officially announced that Oscar nominee Michelle Williams will star for the first time on Broadway as 'Sally Bowles' in its upcoming production of Cabaret. She will take the stage at Studio 54 alongside Alan Cumming as the Emcee, reprising the role that won him a Tony Award in 1998.

EugEnie Grandet, an adaptation of Balzac's classic story of love, greed and betrayal, will play the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2013, at Assembly One George Square from today, 2 - 26 August. This will be the first ever stage production in English of this French classic.

Founded in 1979 by its Artistic Director, Jeffrey Horowitz, Theatre for a New Audience's next act is about to begin with the opening of its Center for Shakespeare and Classical Drama in Brooklyn. The inaugural production is Julie Taymor's staging of A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare with original music by Elliot Goldenthal. Previews begin October 19 for an opening on November 2.
