Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma hasn't presented the beloved Rodgers and Hammerstein musical THE KING AND I since 1983, but this summer the production will return with a vengeance, featuring a powerful cast and creative team, July 9-13 at the Civic Center Music Hall, as part of Lyric's 50th Anniversary Season. THE KING AND I will be directed by 'Sesame Street' star Alan Muraoka, known as Al on the show.
This June, Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma will return to the Civic Center Music Hall with a high-flying, powerful production of TARZAN, starring New York-based actor Nicholas Rodriguez as the title character. Running June 25-29, the show will mark the beginning of Lyric's four-show, 50th Anniversary Summer Season and will feature an original set by Helen Hayes Award-winning scenic designer Adam Koch and Oklahoma City artist Erin Latham.

The play is the second installment in Lyric's 50th Anniversary Season and will star nationally-recognized, Washington, D.C. actress Helen Hedman as Amanda.
Ford's Theatre Director Paul R. Tetreault announced the Theatre's 2013-2014 season will open with a new production of The Laramie Project, 15 years after the killing of Wyoming college student Matthew Shepard. The play is presented as the cornerstone production for the Ford's Theatre Society's Lincoln Legacy Project, a multi-year effort dedicated to sparking dialogue in the nation's capital around issues of social injustice and the ideals of equality for which Abraham Lincoln stood. A series of free special programs and events will be offered in connection with the play in September/October 2013.

Quebec native Isabelle Demers kicks off The Fred J. Cooper Memorial Organ Recital Series on Saturday, January 19 at 3 p.m. in Verizon Hall. Revered by both critics and audiences alike for her virtuosic capabilities on the organ, Demers studied with Paul Jacobs at Julliard and is an internationally renowned talent recognized in organ competitions held in the United States, Europe and Canada. Prior to the afternoon performance, all ticket holders are welcome to attend a pre-concert lecture with Michael Barone, host of American Public Media's PIPEDREAMS, and Isabelle Demers at 2:15 pm in Verizon Hall.
