Andrew Lloyd Webber Talks Oz & Next TV Star Hunt - Jesus

Interviewed this week on Sir Terry Wogan's Weekend Wogan was composer Andrew Lloyd Webber who gave a special interview live from the London Palladium (soon to be home to THE WIZARD OF OZ) in which he talked about a wide range of subjects, including the upcoming show and his recent knack for casting in television hunts. Here's what was said:

Review Roundup: LES MISERABLES at the Barbican!

Cameron Mackintosh's current touring production of Les Miserables will run at London's Barbican Theatre, it's English-language birthplace in 1985, for 22 performances through October 2, 2010. A Queens Theatre staple for nearly 22 years in the West End, this new run will mark the first time in London that the same musical has run simultaneously.

Michael Ball Gives Benefit Concert at Prince of Wales Theatre for Sick Children, 10/10

Whatsonstage.com is reporting that Michael Ball will perform in concert at the Prince of Wales Theatre on October 10, 2010. The concert will benefit The Shooting Stars Children's Hospice, which treats terminal illnesses in children in in West London and North Surrey. Additional guest stars for the concert will be announced shortly.

Webber Confirms LOVE NEVER DIES to Hit Toronto & Australia Next

Interviewed this week on Michael Ball's UK television show, Andrew Lloyd Webber himself has confirmed that LOVE NEVER DIES will next be hitting Australia and Toronto (which he said will be the pre-Broadway production) with different teams in place in each city. No specific dates, timelines or names for casting or creative have been revealed.

On September 1, 2010, The Michael Ball Show hosted the West End's Aaron Watson and Connor Kelly, who play Billy and Michael in the London production of BIlly Elliot the Musical. The pair perform part of Expressing Yourself on the ITV's variety show. Click below for the performance!

TV: Robert Foxworth Stars in King Lear at Old Globe

Robert Foxworth plays King Lear and Bruce Turk the Fool in Shakespeare's tragedy, directed by Festival Artistic Director Adrian Noble. The crowns are swapped in Alan Bennett's The Madness of George III, also helmed by Noble, where Miles Anderson will play King George III and Foxworth will play Dr. Willis. The Festival also includes Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew directed by Ron Daniels with Jonno Roberts and Emily Swallow as the two sparring lovers.

LOVE STORY Transfers To Duchess Theatre In November

The Chichester Festival Theatre production of Love Story will transfer to the West End previewing at the Duchess Theatre from 27 November, with press night on 6 December 2010. Love Story, which is produced in the West End by Michael Ball - making his producing debut, Adam Spiegel and Stephen Waley-Cohen, is currently booking until 26 February 2011.

Ball-Produced LOVE STORY Transfers to West End

The UK Daily Mail reports that Michael Ball will soon see theatre from a different angle. Ball has decided to assume the role of producer for the first time with LOVE STORY, a musical adaptation of the Erich Segal novel. His investment is estimated to be close to £250,000.

According to The Sun ITV has signed on a new daytime talk show for Michael Ball, the show will be entitled 'The Michael Ball Show.'
