The Fort Greene Festival is a major, not-for profit, community service event. The event benefits scholarships, and helps community service. All of the talent are donating their time. Fort Greene Fest's demographics reflect a stronghold for some of NYC's political, business, civic, fashion, media, entertainment and sports leaders and stars.
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the nominees for the 37th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards. Many of the major categories were announced this morning on 'CBS News' 'The Early Show,' by Bree Williamson (Jessica Brennan on 'One Life to Live,' ABC) and Travis Stork ('The Doctors,' Syndicated) including the naming of the Lifetime Achievement honoree, Agnes Nixon, the grand dame of Daytime serial drama.
Today, Women Who Care hosted their 9th Annual Luncheon, celebrating women who serve as role models in their community as caregivers, professionals and volunteers. This year's honorees were Ann Curry, News Anchor, 'The Today Show,' Francine LeFrak, Producer/Philanthropist, Linda Kaplan Thaler, CEO The Kaplan Thaler Group, JoanAnn Natola, Managing Partner, Element Financial Group Dr. Pamela F. Gallin, Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology, New York Presbyterian Columbia University Medical Center, and Anita & Gary Geresi, Parent Advocates.
