BWW Reviews: Opera Australia and John Frost's THE KING AND I

Before Thursday's opening night, Opera Australia and John Frost's revival of the Rodger and Hammerstein classic musical The King and I was already a resounding success following positive reviews during it's run in Melbourne, impressive advanced ticket sales and a Helpmann Award for Best Musical. It was as a result of this hype that I entered the Opera House full of high expectations and ready, no, expecting to be entertained. I was not disappointed.

Seth Rudetsky Heads to Feinstein's at the Nikko This Weekend

Sirius/XM radio's Broadway host, Seth Rudetsky, is bringing his hilarious one-man show - Seth's Big Fat Broadway - to Feinstein's at the Nikko for two performances only - tonight, September 13 (7 p.m.) and Sunday, September 14 (7 p.m.). Seth's Big Fat Broadway is described as a combination of 'America's Funniest Home Videos' and 'The Daily Show.' The 90-minute tour-de-force features his trademark 'deconstructions,' in which Rudetsky uses his audio/video collection to break down brilliant performances from beloved Broadway divas (Patti LuPone, Betty Buckley) as well as showcase mind-boggling videos like The Osmonds singing a medley from Fiddler On The Roof or Cher performing all of West Side Story. Seriously. This award-winning show recently played to a sold-out crowd in London where it received 5-star reviews and was called 'blindingly brilliant' 'unmissably fantastic' 'hysterical', a 'must-see'! Tickets for Seth Rudetsky range in price from $35 - $50 and are on-sale now and available by calling 866.663.1063 or visiting www.ticketweb.com.

BWW Review: WICKED Continues To Amaze Audiences 9 Years After Toronto Debut

One can't help but leave the Ed Mirvish Theatre on a high after a performance of 'Wicked,' a musical now in its 11th year on Broadway. The Wizard sings a tune in the show which begins with 'I am a sentimental man,' and as I watched him call the guards just before Elphaba (the Wicked Witch) takes flight at the close of the first act - I realized that this lyric perfectly summed up my thoughts on the production I was seeing tonight.
