Sundance Institute Presents 2015 U.S. and World Competitions, NEXT and More, Beginning Today

Sundance Institute presents its U.S. and World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary Competitions and the out-of-competition NEXT <=> section of the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, running today, January 22 to February 1 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah. The Festival is the centerpiece of the year-round public programs for the Institute, which also hosts 24 residency labs and grants more than $2.5 million to independent artists each year.

In celebration of Asian Heritage month, the Equal Employment Opportunity Committee of Actors' Equity Association will present 'Orphans of the Nightingale of the Desert Abridged: A Bollywood Spectacular,' an evening of short plays written by members of the Ma-Yi Theater Company Writers Lab. The Sundance Film Festival expands to audiences across the country for one special night of film and dialogue, dispatching 10 filmmakers from Park City to nine cities across the country to screen and discuss their direct-from-Festival films with audiences. The Belcourt Theatre has been selected by the Sundance Film Festival as one of only 10 venues in America to screen a specially selected film tonight, Jan. 31, 2013 as part of Sundance Film Festival USA. This year, the Belcourt will screen MOTHER OF GEORGE, directed by Andrew Dosunmu.
