BWW Interviews: Dan Domenech Talks Becoming TARZAN
by Oliver Oliveros - Jun 28, 2013

'Tarzan is the most challenging role for me...Playing Tarzan could also help me get over my fear of being too exposed onstage. In 'Broadway Bares' [a modern-day burlesque fundraiser] every year, those actors and dancers are going crazy taking their clothes off. I have so much respect for people who can do that.' - Dan Domenech

BWW Interviews: ROCK OF AGES' Dan Domenech Talks Being a ‘90s Grunge Kid and Bud Frump

Similarity is attractive: Bryne's law of attraction points out that the attraction towards an individual (or a stage role) is positively related to the proportion of similar attitudes shared by two or more persons. It's no wonder smash Broadway musical ROCK OF AGES' new leading man, Dan Domenech (who shares similar attitudes toward his new stage role), has been having the time of his life since he made his Broadway debut five months ago -- playing the part of Drew, a rocker wannabe from Detroit.

BWW Interviews: WSS's Matthew Hydzik
by Joseph F. Panarello - Oct 6, 2010

The role of Tony in WEST SIDE STORY may be the most difficult role to cast in musical theatre. It requires a young performer who can sing a tenor role, dance Jerome Robbins' iconic choreography, and act convincingly enough to make the audience believe that love-at-first-sight is a true possibility in the real world. Not every production of the show is successful in getting someone who scores in all these departments.

Julia Murney Stars in Lyric's The Who's TOMMY 2/5-2/21
by BWW News Desk - Feb 5, 2009

Lyric Theatre, Oklahoma's premiere professional theatre company, opens the 2009 'Lyric at the Plaza' season with The Who's Tommy, playing from February 5th through 21st. Produced in collaboration with the University of Oklahoma's Weitzenhoffer Department of Musical Theatre, this production of Tommy blends young Oklahoma talent with the experience and polish of exceptional Broadway performers. Tommy, the stunning stage adaptation of the 1969 rock opera by the legendary British rock group, The Who, made history in 1993 when it opened on Broadway and brought authentic rock music into the musical theatre realm. The Who's Pete Townshend played a vital part in the creation of the show, staying true to the album's identity as a rock and roll piece, while simultaneously allowing actors to fully develop its drama and bring the emotionally raw and moving story to a final conclusion of reconciliation and forgiveness.
