AstonRep's THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE to Run 10/23-11/23 at Raven Theatre

AstonRep Theatre Company will launch its 2014-15 season with Martin McDonagh's black comedy THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE, directed by Company Member Derek Bertelsen, playing October 23 - November 23, 2014 at The Raven Theatre (West Stage), 6157 N. Clark St. in Chicago. Tickets go on sale Friday, August 1, 2014 at www.astonrep.com or by calling (773) 828-9129. The press opening is Sunday, October 26 at 3:30 pm.

THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN, Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Enters Final Week on Broadway

The Michael Grandage Company production of The Cripple of Inishmaan, the Broadway premiere of a comedy by Martin McDonagh, starring Daniel Radcliffe and the critically acclaimed West End cast, directed by Tony Award-winner Michael Grandage, is now in its final week at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street). The limited engagement, which opened on Sunday, April 20, must end on July 20.

For those who didn't have the opportunity to meet the cast and crew of East Lynne Theater Company's 'The First Fifty Years' at the opening night after-show party at Pier House Restaurant on June 11, another chance is to be had on Friday, June 20 at an after-show Q&A. The Third Rail Repertory Theatre Presents THE BEAUTY QUEEN OF LEENANE by Martin McDonagh. The play will run from today, May 30th through June 22nd. The cast includes Damon Kupper*, Maureen Porter*, Jayne Taini, and Rolland Walsh. According to Charles Spencer of The Telegraph, '[McDonagh's writing] is the bastard offspring of JM Synge and Quentin Tarantino, with moments of extreme violence constantly juxtaposed with edgy, laugh-out-loud humour.'

East Lynne to Open Season with THE FIRST FIFTY YEARS, 6/11-7/19

They love, they fight, they make up, they care for each other - it's a marriage. The award winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company presents "The First Fifty Years," a dramatic-comedy that shows the ups and downs of a marriage in seven scenes, each during a pivotal anniversary. Beginning right after their honeymoon in 1872, seven years after the end of the Civil War, the play marks the lives of Anne and Martin Wells up to their golden anniversary at the beginning of the Roaring '20s, in 1922.

THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE, LES LIAISONS DANGEREUSES & More Set for AstonRep's 2014-15 Season

AstonRep Theatre Company has announced its 2014-15 its new artistic home, The Raven Theatre, 6157 N. Clark St. in Chicago. The season kicks off this fall with Martin McDonagh's comedy THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE, directed by Company Member Derek Bertelsen followed next spring by Christopher Hampton's drama LES LIAISONS DANGEREUSES, directed by Charlie Marie McGrath. The season concludes next summer with the 7th ANNUAL WRITER'S SERIES, exposing and developing new works by some of Chicago's most talented playwrights (venue to be announced).
