Cerca de 400 niñas entre 6 y 12 años se presentaron con la esperanza de llegar a interpretar a la joven Annie, o alguna de las otras 12 huérfanas de la historia. BroadwayWorld Spain pudo asistir a una de estas audiciones en el Círculo Catalán de Madrid, en la que las niñas realizaron pruebas de danza y canto.
