KNOCK ME A KISS Opens at Crossroads Theatre Tonight, 10/25

Crossroads Theatre Company kicks off its 2012 - 2013 season of insightful, compelling and entertaining plays with Charles Smith's acclaimed KNOCK ME A KISS, a fictionalized look at the drama surrounding the ill-fated marriage of W.E.B. Du Bois' daughter. The production is directed by Chuck Smith (no relation to the author). The play will be on stage at the New Brunswick theatre with a run beginning tonight, October 25 and continuing through November 4. Tickets are on sale now.

Theatre Communications Group Announces New Appointments to Board of Directors

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, announces new leadership of its board of directors and six new members. Lydia R. Diamond, playwright, and Diane Rodriguez, associate producer/director of new play production, Center Theatre Group, will assume the joint positions of vice president. They succeed James Bundy, artistic director, Yale Repertory Theatre and Rachel Kraft, executive director, Lookingglass Theatre Company. Philip Himberg, producing artistic director of the Sundance Institute Theatre Program, will continue to serve his term as board president. Roche Schulfer, executive director, Goodman Theatre will continue to serve as treasurer and Ralph Bryan, managing director, Bryan-Billauer-Kozo, Financial Strategies Group, Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC will succeed Olga Sanchez, artistic director, Miracle Theatre Group, as secretary.

Jason Robert Brown's Off-Broadway show The Last Five Years takes the stage at Crossroads Theatre Company, April 12-29. The Last Five Years is a contemporary musical about the five-year relationship between two young New Yorkers: Jamie Wellerstein, a Jewish novelist whose career is rising at lightning speed, and Cathy Hiatt, an actress with integrity struggling to make it in a cut-throat business. The couple earnestly navigates the tumultuous waters of love, while their career successes and hardships tear them apart. Crossroads' production casts Cathy as an African-American, adding an interracial dimension to the show.

André De Shields Talks AIN'T MISBEHAVIN' on WNBC 10/16

A two-time Tony Award nominee, De Shields, whose prolific career spans more than four decades, was a member of the original company of Ain't Misbehavin' which initially opened at the Manhattan Theatre Club's cabaret in February, 1978.

Welcome to the effervescent, energetic world of Fats Waller, a world of rent parties, hot jazz and the exuberance of the Harlem Renaissance. The 'joint' will definitely be 'jumpin' as Crossroads Theatre Company presents the Tony Award- winning musical, Ain't Misbehavin', directed and choreographed by André De Shields. Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, announces new leadership of its board of directors and seven new members. Philip Himberg, producing artistic director of the Sundance Institute Theatre Program, will assume the position of board president. He succeeds Martha Lavey, artistic director of Steppenwolf, who concluded a two year term in June. He will be joined by returning vice president, James Bundy, artistic director, Yale Repertory Theatre and newly appointed vice president Rachel Kraft, executive director, Lookingglass Theatre Company. Roche Schulfer, executive director, Goodman Theatre will serve as treasurer and Olga Sanchez, artistic director, Miracle Theatre Group, will serve again as secretary. Lavey will remain on the board as immediate past President.
