With college basketball season right around the corner, FOX Sports unveils the on-air broadcasters calling BIG EAST games on FOX, FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2.

FOX Sports 1 captures the energy and excitement surrounding the start of a new college basketball season and a new college basketball conference with coverage from all 10 BIG EAST campuses during the BIG EAST TIP-OFF PARTY on Friday, Oct. 25, from 9:00-11:00 PM ET.

Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig just announced that Kinky Boots, this year's Tony Award-winning Best Musical, has recouped its costs in just 30 weeks. Capitalized at $13.5 million, Kinky Boots achieved this milestone faster than any big budget musical in recent history. With a Tony Award-winning score by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, a book by four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein, and direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell, the smash hit musical plays to standing-room-only crowds nightly and continues to shatter box office records at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street), where it started previews on March 4 and officially opened on April 4, 2013.

Milwaukee Chamber Theatre (MCT) continues its 2013-2014 theatre season with the Milwaukee premiere of THE DETECTIVE'S WIFE by Keith Huff, September 18 - October 13, 2013. In addition to numerous plays, Keith Huff has written for the television series "House of Cards" and "Mad Men." This one-woman show features Milwaukee favorite Mary MacDonald Kerr who was last seen at MCT in THE SWEETEST SWING IN BASEBALL. The show is also a production collaboration with the UW-Milwaukee Theatre Department. UWM professor Jim Tasse will direct and the production team members are UWM faculty and students. THE DETECTIVE'S WIFE performs in the Broadway Theatre Center's Studio Theatre in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward.

Last night, Casey Nicholaw and Josh Marquette hosted a cocktail event to benefit the Matthew Shepard Foundation at One Museum Mile (1280 Fifth Avenue). Attendees included Broadway luminaries Jeff Blumenkrantz, Danny Burstein, Carolee Carmello, Jeanine Tesori and Michael James Scott, and stars of HGTV's Selling New York Tom Postilio and Mickey Conlon. The event raised over $7,500 for the Matthew Shepard Foundation.

Milwaukee Repertory Theater presents Ragtime, the sweeping musical which will kick off The Rep's 2013/14 60th Anniversary Season in the Quadracci Powerhouse theater.

The full cast of Disney's Aladdin, a new musical based on the Academy Award winning animated film, began rehearsals today in New York City. Aladdin will launch at Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theatre (formerly the Canon) November 1, 2013 to January 5, 2014. Opening night there is November 21, 2013. FIRST DATE has just annnounced a new performance schedule, beginning Tuesday, October 8, 2013: Tuesday and Wednesday at 7pm, Thursday-Saturday at 8pm, Saturday at 2pm, Sunday at 3pm and 7.30pm. CBS Sports has acquired the rights to televise BIG EAST Conference college basketball games on the CBS Television Network and CBS Sports Network through a sublicensing agreement with Fox Sports. The multi-year agreement begins with the 2013-14 college basketball season and continues through 2018-19.

The NATIONAL NEW PLAY NETWORK (NNPN), the country's alliance of non-profit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces its 41st Rolling World Premiere: John Biguenet's Broomstick will receive four productions through the Network's Continued Life of New Plays Fund in the 2013/14 season. Broomstick will begin its Rolling World Premiere at New Jersey Repertory Company (Long Branch, NJ, September 19 - October 13, 2013), followed by performances at Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey (Madison, NJ, January 9-26, 2014), Southern Rep (New Orleans, LA, June, August and October, 2014) and Montana Repertory Theatre (Missoula, MT, September 10-27, 2014).
