BACK TO THE FUTURE Soundtrack Re-Issued on Two-Sided Vinyl Picture Disc Today

Perhaps the best news of all, a 30 th anniversary reissue of the original Back to the Future: Music from the Motion Picture soundtrack will be reissued as a special, double-vinyl picture disc by Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) today, October 21.

Washington National Opera Announces Full Schedule for American Opera Initiative

WASHINGTON)—Washington National Opera (WNO) today announced details for the fourth season of the American Opera Initiative, its comprehensive commissioning program that brings contemporary American stories to the stage while fostering the talents of rising American composers and librettists. Three pairings of new opera composers and librettists—Christopher Weiss and John de los Santos, David Clay Mettens and Joshua McGuire, and Sarah Hutchings and Mark Sonnenblick—will premiere new one-act operas, each based on a contemporary American story, in a semi-staged concert performance on December 2, 2015 in the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater. Composer Luna Pearl Woolf and librettist Caitlin Vincent, an alumnus of the program's second season, will present their new hour-long work Better Gods—based on the life of Queen Lili'uokalani, the last monarch of Hawaii—on January 8 and 9, 2016 in the Terrace Theater.

Theatre Aspen announced that tickets are on sale for the first annual Aspen Theatre Festival, held at the Hurst Theatre during the final week of the summer, on August 25th and 28th. Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Opens Season with All-Star CANDIDE Tonight

(March 23, 2015) - For the conclusion of the 2014-2015 season, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) and Music Director Marin Alsop lead the BSO premiere of Leonard Bernstein's comedic operetta Candide tonight, June 11 at the Music Center at Strathmore, and June 12 through June 14 at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The BSO announced today that the semi-staged production of Candide will be directed by Garnett Bruce and features an all-star cast including Peter Sagal, the host of NPR's weekly current events quiz show "Wait Wait…Don't Tell Me," and Judy Kaye, Tony Award-winning star of The Phantom of the Opera.
