The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry at the University of Connecticut will host its Spring Puppet Performance Series on four Todays from February to May 2017, featuring outstanding works for puppet theater by professional puppeteers from across the Northeast and beyond. Each show will be performed twice, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. All performances will take place at the Ballard Institute Theater located at 1 Royce Circle, Storrs, CT. Productions and dates include:

Abingdon Theatre Company presents the world premiere of THE MOTHER OF INVENTION, a new play by Academy Award, Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award-winner James Lecesne (The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey, Word of Mouth, Trevor). The official press opening is tonight, February 9, in Abingdon's June Havoc Theatre (312 West 36th Street). Artistic Director Tony Speciale, who also directed The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey is set to direct.
MTC & Marin Academy to Co-Produce Jeff Cohen's THE SOAP MYTH

Marin Theatre Company is honored to co-produce a staged reading of Jeff Cohen's The Soap Myth with the Marin Academy on Tuesday, February 21 at 7:00pm starring the incomparable Ed Asner and Tovah Feldshuh. After last year's successful production at MTC, Marin Academy approached MTC about bringing Mr. Cohen's story to a wider community, most importantly the Academy's student body. The organizations are thrilled to join forces in re-staging this work, with playwright Cohen, Mr. Asner and Ms. Feldshuh on board.
