Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival Announces Public Installation Artists For May 2019 In Toronto

Today, the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival announced their public installation program for the 23rd edition of the city-wide event spanning the month of May 2019. Renowned American artist Carrie Mae Weems will create three separate site-specific installations at outdoor venues downtown, representing the first time she has shown her work at this scale in Canada. These installations are presented in conjunction with exhibitions at the CONTACT Gallery and the Art Museum at the University of Toronto.
Multi-Platinum R&B Group B2K Reunites on The Millennium Tour; Makes Stop at MGM Grand Garden Arena

Multi-Platinum R&B group B2K (Omarion, Boog, Fizz and Raz-B) are adding a Las Vegas date to their limited engagement tour kicking off this month, entitled “The Millennium Tour.” The iconic group, along with special guests Mario, Pretty Ricky, Lloyd, Ying Yang Twins, Chingy and Bobby V, will visit the MGM Grand Garden Arena Sunday, May 26. The tour is produced by G-Squared Events in association with Omarion Worldwide, Hall of Fame Entertainment, and Blvd. Music. Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, March 15 at 10 a.m.

Gianfranco Terrin, a native of Naples who trained in Los Angeles at the Lee Strasberg Institute, is the director of the new Hollywood production. and is probably best known for his work on The Disney Channel's 'Movie Surfers' as well as in other Italian and American films. But his decision to present caricatures rather than believable characters takes this seemingly under-rehearsed comedy into the realm of farce.

One of the Southwest's largest jazz festivals will return to Texas Christian University March 22-23, 2019, for its 42nd year, featuring legendary American jazz drummer Duffy Jackson to the exciting theme, "Tribute to the music of Count Basie and Buddy Rich." The 2019 TCU Jazz Festival will host more than 700 middle and high school students at Ed Landreth Auditorium and PepsiCo Recital Hall during the annual competition, encompassing two days of performances from some of the most highly-regarded names in jazz, TCU ensembles and young artists from across the state.

The tale, set in the 1960s, takes place in the city of Venice. It centers on Guido Contini who is dreading his upcoming 40th birthday. We follow him as he is facing a midlife crisis that seems to be blocking artistic whims cornering him in a web of romantic complications; Both in real life and his mind. Arthur Kopit's book takes much insight from the viewer as they switch between reality and Guido's mind. Moreover, the music, by Maury Yeston, is rich and moving.

Tobiano is the 3rd full length release by guitarist/songwriter Karen Haglof. The bulk of the ten songs included were written and recorded in the same time frame as the 2018 EP Palomino Steady Rocking. The album was produced by Steve Almaas, recorded at Cowboy Technical Services in Greenpoint Brooklyn in 2017, engineered by Mario Viele. It was mixed at the Fidelitorium in Kernersville NC by Mitch Easter and mastered by Scott Craggs at Old Colony Mastering in Boston, MA. Guest musicians include: Easter, Pete Holsapple, Liza Colby, Josh Graboff, Sherryll Marshall, Crispin Cioue and Lianne Nelson. Tobiano is being released April 12 and is a loose companion to Palomino.
