Broadway veterans Carole Demas, who originated the role of Sandy in Grease, and Sarah Rice, who originated the role of Johanna in Sweeney Todd, have teamed up to celebrate the music of Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt, composers of THE FANTASTICKS, 110 IN THE SHADE, I DO! I DO! and more. Demas and Rice have based their show on their 50 years of work and personal relationships with Jones and Schmidt.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces Radio Galaxy, the third and final show of the TRU Voices New Plays Reading Series, on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 7pm at Soho Playhouse, 15 Vandam Street, NYC.

The Theatre Group at SBCC opens the 17/18 season with Cole Porter's sparkling musical, HIGH SOCIETY, July 12-29 in the Garvin Theatre. 

Based in Israel, Roy Assaf Dance makes its U.S. debut with a program of clever and heartfelt works in the Doris Duke Theatre July 12-16. A rising choreographic star, Assaf has been commissioned by companies across the globe including Batsheva Dance Company, The Royal Swedish Ballet, National Dance Company Wales, and LA Dance Project. The program opens with Assaf's embracing duet Six Years Later which is praised for its "beauty, nuances, and intricate, astute movements" (Ora Brafman, Jerusalem Post), and closes with his powerful all-male trio The Hill, inspired by veterans' experiences and based on the Hebrew song "Givat Hatachmoshet".

Margot Wain has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Daytime Programs, and Ray Paolantonio and Laurie Seidman have been promoted to Vice Presidents, Daytime Programs, it was announced today by Angelica McDaniel, Executive Vice President, Daytime Programs and Syndicated Program Development, CBS Entertainment and CBS Television Distribution.

As previously announced, Writers Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, opens its 2017/18 season with the World Premiere of TREVOR the musical.

The Royal Ballet brings its celebrations of 70 years at the Royal Opera House to a close with a mixed program of works by its Founder Choreographer Frederick Ashton. This special performance will be presented at the River Street Theatre in Jaffrey on Sunday, June 25 and Monday, June 26. It will be shown as it was produced in London two weeks ago and captured in high definition for cinema.

Just last night, the Acting Company held a one-night-only benefit reading of British drama The Chalk Garden by Enid Bagnold, starring Angela Lansbury. Completing the cast were Tedra Millan (Present Laughter, The Wolves) as Laurel, Patricia Conolly (The Front Page), Michele Tauber (Mint Theatre's The Charity That Began at Home), Holly Villaire (Scapino), Francesca Faridany (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) as Miss Madrigal, Simon Jones (Blithe Spirit, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) as the Judge, David Lansbury (War Horse) as Maitland and Charlotte Parry (The Importance of Being Earnest) as Olivia.

Time to get whipped into shape! On Monday, June 19, Broadway Method Academy, Fairfield County's premier musical theater training program, began rehearsal for their July production of the hit blockbuster musical, Legally Blonde. The LEXington Theatre Company presents its third summer production, combining "Today's Broadway Stars and Tomorrow's Broadway Hopefuls." Lexington's own Laura Bell Bundy (Tony-Nominee for Legally Blonde), will be on hand to co-direct the show (schedule permitting), alongside The LEX Artistic Director, Lyndy Franklin Smith (A Chorus Line, The Little Mermaid). The production will feature the Tony-nominated original Broadway choreography, by Jerry Mitchell, recreated and adapted by Brooke Engen, (Gypsy, Hairspray) and Tiffany Engen (Legally Blonde).

Jacob's Pillow Director Pamela Tatge recently unveiled Vision '22, a strategic approach for the Pillow's development over the next five years, through 2022. Vision '22 is a blueprint for enabling the Pillow to become a year-round center for dance creation and to more robustly serve artists and audiences alike.

Chester Theatre Company (CTC) is proud to present Lauren Gunderson's I and You in the historic Chester Town Hall, 15 Middlefield Road in Chester, MA, from June 28 through July 9, 2017. The production is directed by WAM Theatre Artistic Director Kristen van Ginhoven.

The Dallas Opera has announced that dedicated philanthropists Dianne B. LaRoe and Mark H. LaRoe have accepted the positions of Chairs of FIRST SIGHT/FIRST NIGHT, the spectacular 2017-2018 Season Opening events. Honorary Chairs are Nancy A. Nasher and David J. Haemisegger.

Final casting has been confirmed for The Acting Company's benefit reading of British drama The Chalk Garden by Enid Bagnold, starring Angela Lansbury. The one-night-only event will take place on Monday, June 19 at 7 PM, at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College, 68th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues, presented by The Acting Company in association with Andrew Bryan and Opus Blue Productions.
