The National Alliance For Musical Theatre (NAMT) has announced casting for the additional concerts and events surrounding their 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals. Today, October 22nd the Festival kicks off with The 46th Minute, a concert featuring cut songs and new material from all eight 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals selections, followed by The 2014 Songwriters Showcase on October 23rd and The Songwriters Sessions on October 23rd and 24th, all at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).

New York Theatre Barn will present the next installment of their New Works Series, featuring musical theater writers Michael Cooper and Timothy Huang on Monday, June 23rd at 7:30pm at the DR2 Theatre (Daryl Roth Theatre, 101 E. 15th Street). The Old Globe presents the World Premiere of Allegiance -- A New American Musical, an epic story of family, love and patriotism set during the Japanese American internment of World War II. Allegiance -- A New American Musical will run on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, Sept. 7 -- Oct. 21, 2012. Local and U.S. concerts for Philippine typhoon victims have been pouring in since typhoons 'Ondoy' and 'Pepeng' displaced thousands of Filipinos a few months back. New York-based Filipino and Filipino-American theatre performers held their own benefit aptly titled BROADWAY BARKADA PRESENTS BALIKBAYAN BENEFIT last Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the Philippine Center at 556 Fifth Avenue.
