Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, announces the addition of Cry It Out, written by Molly Smith Metzler, to close its 43rd season, May 10 - June 17, 2018. The previously announced The Legend of Georgia McBride, directed by Lauren Shouse, has been re-scheduled to open the season, playing September 14 - October 22, 2017, replacing Bruce Graham's Sanctions.

LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater will open its 2017-2018 season with AFTER THE BLAST, a new play by Zoe Kazan, to be directed by Lila Neugebauer, beginning performances Saturday, October 7 and running for six weeks only through Sunday, November 19 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street). Opening night is Monday, October 23.

Alley Theatre Managing Director Dean R. Gladden announced today that Rachel Applegate has been appointed to join the Alley Theatre as the Director of Marketing and Communications. Rachel Applegate is currently the Chief Marketing and Community Engagement Officer for ZACH Theatre in Austin, and oversees earned revenue, brand strategy development, and community engagement initiatives. Applegate joins the Alley with more than 10 years of arts marketing and management experience. She begins at the Alley June 5.

Capital Stage presents Bad Jews by Joshua Harmon a NY Times Critics Pick (2013). Amy Resnick, last seen at Capital Stage in August: Osage County, and Blackberry Winter will direct this Sacramento Premiere. Bad Jews will be the sixth and final production of Capital Stage's 2016-17 Season: Love + War, and will run from June 21-July 23, 2017 with a Press Opening on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 8pm.

The American Theatre Wing (Heather Hitchens, President) and The Village Voice (Peter Barbey, Owner) are thrilled to announce the winners of the 62nd Annual Obie Awards®. Jennifer Kidwell & Scott R. Sheppard's Underground Railroad Game, produced by Ars Nova, and J.T. Roger's Oslo, produced by Lincoln Center Theater, shared the Obie Awards for Best New American Theatre Work, which is accompanied by a $500 prize each. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel received a special Obie Award for Lifetime Achievement. Obie and Screen Actors Guild® Award-winning actress Lea DeLaria returned as host of this year's ceremony, which was held at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street).
