Walnut Street Theatre's 2016-2017 Independence Studio on 3 season continues with The Irish Repertory Theatre of New York's adaptation Dylan Thomas' iconic, A CHILD'S CHRISTMAS IN WALES. Directed by Aaron Cromie, the production began with previews on November 15th, opens tonight, November 17th, and continues through December 23rd.

Producer Kevin McCollum  just announced casting for the National Tour of Something Rotten!, the ten-time Tony-Award nominated smash hit musical comedy. Three of the current Broadway principals will be reprising their roles on tour: Rob McClure as Nick Bottom, Adam Pascal as Shakespeare and Josh Grisetti as Nigel Bottom.

If you're one of those people who feels as though this Presidential election campaign has been a "joke" or "no laughing matter" or somewhere in between, take heart:  the long-running, Tony Award-winning musical comedy AVENUE Q (now in its 13th year in NYC) is entering the race, as it were, with the addition of a HILLARY CLINTON puppet and DONALD TRUMP puppet to its acting company of people and puppets. 

Everything is changing at the St. James Theatre! As BroadwayWorld previously announced, the smash hit musical comedy Something Rotten! has recently welcomed a slew of new principal cast members for its second year on Broadway.  The production now stars  Will Chase (Shakespeare), Catherine Brunell (Portia), Josh Grisetti (Nigel Bottom) and Leslie Kritzer (Bea), who were welcomed to the Renaissance yesterday July 18, and Rob McClure (Nick Bottom), who joined the cast just last month. AVENUE Q celebrated NYC pride weekend on Sunday when puppet stars Rod and Lucy took to the streets of New York City on board the Impulse Group NYC Pride Parade Float. Just 3 days after he renewed his vows with Ricky, Rod took Lucy to enjoy a fun filled day away from the New World Stages, where Avenue Q performs 8 times a week. Check out photos below!

STEEL MAGNOLIAS is now in an extended run at the Hanna Theatre, as part of the Key Bank Broadway series. It is based on author Robert Harling's sister's 1985 death from diabetic complications following the birth of his name-sake nephew.

The women took the center stage last night at The Ladies Who Sing Sondheim- a gala benefit for Off-Broadway's esteemed Classic Stage Company. The evening was and directed by Tony Award winner John Doyle, who will become the company's new Artistic Director in July.  The evening included performances from Sondheim's canon by Patti LuPone (Gypsy), Victoria Clark (The Light in the Piazza), Cynthia Erivo (The Color Purple), Joaquina Kalukango (The Color Purple), Judy Kuhn (Fun Home, CSC's Passion), Marin Mazzie (Kiss Me, Kate) and Alexandra Silber(Fiddler on the Roof).
