Tickets Go on Sale 4/10 for 2013 Obie Awards Ceremony

The Village Voice, the nation's largest alternative weekly newspaper, announced today that tickets will go on sale April 10, 2013 for the 58th Annual Obie Awards on Monday, May 20, 2013, at Webster Hall in the East Village, 125 East 11th Street.

Playwrights Horizons World Premiere of The Flick, a new play by Obie Award winner Annie Baker (Circle Mirror Transformation at PH, The Aliens, her recent adaptation of Uncle Vanya), opened last night, March 12. Directed by Obie Award winner Sam Gold (Circle Mirror Transformation, Kin and The Big Meal at PH; Seminar and Picnic on Broadway), the production will play through Sunday, March 31 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street). Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's production of the world premiere of Jesse Eisenberg's The Revisionist, starring Eisenberg and Vanessa Redgrave, and directed by Kip Fagan, has been extended for three weeks though Sunday, April 21, at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street. PICNIC Concludes Limited Broadway Run Today

Roundabout Theatre Company's new Broadway production of Picnic, in association with Darren Bagert and Martin Massman, closes today, Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd Street). Since opening on Jan. 13, PICNIC has played 47 regular performances. It opened for previews on Dec. 14, 2012.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the second time this season to decide the eligibility of 14 Broadway productions for the 2013 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. The Tony Awards Administration Committee will meet a total of four times throughout the 2012-2013 season to decide the eligibility for the 2013 Tony Awards.
