Following the five most successful and highest?attended seasons in its 36?year history, The Lyric Stage Company of Boston announces a 2010?2011 Season 'kick off' celebration with a special one?day sale: Tuesday, July 27, unlimited tickets for only $25* (with no handling fees) to The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby Parts I & II, and The Understudy. Additionally, all handling fees will be waived for any ticket purchased to any production of the 2010?2011 Season (all performances and all sections).

The game is afoot! Master sleuth Sherlock Holmes and trusty sidekick Dr. Watson unlock the mystery of The Hound of the Baskervilles this summer at Central Square Theater, directed by Thomas Derrah of the American Repertory Theater. Featuring three actors taking on more than a dozen roles, this laugh-out-loud farce, by Steven Canny and John Nicholson, was a hit in both London and Lenox (Shakespeare & Company). The Hound of the Baskervilles plays at Central Square Theater from Thursday, July 22 through Sunday, August 22. The press opening is set for Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 8 PM.

The Irish play that led to riots in the streets of Dublin when it debuted 103 years ago and became a comic masterpiece, The Playboy of the Western World, opens the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival's 19th season.
