This year's rock n' roll themed gala was attended by over 250 Second Stage Alumni who have worked at Second Stage Theatre during the past 35 years, from Brooke Adams and Polly Draper who appeared in the very first season, to cast members from the currently running The Substance of Fire and the upcoming American Hero which will make its New York premiere this summer at Second Stage Uptown. New York Stage and Film and Vassar College, this summer celebrating the 30th year of their Powerhouse Theater collaboration, have announced the four workshops-two musicals, two plays-that will be a part of the upcoming 30th Powerhouse Theater Season, running from June 20 to July 27 at Vassar College (Poughkeepsie, New York). Everyman Theatre has announced its 2014/15 season. The line-up includes three exciting award-winning Baltimore premieres - The Understudy by Theresa Rebeck, Grounded by George Brant and Ruined by Lynn Nottage - and three classics of the theatrical repertoire - Ghosts by Henrik Ibsen, Blithe Spirit by Noel Coward and Deathtrap by Ira Levin. Westport Country Playhouse is one of 886 nonprofit organizations nationwide to receive an NEA Art Works grant announced by Joan Shigekawa, National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) acting chairman.
