The producers of the new musical Anastasia, opening on Broadway on April 24, 2017 at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street), have just announced that Tony Award nominee Ramin Karimloo will star as Gleb.

The Dramatists Guild Fund presented new work by its graduating 2015-2016 Fellows at Playwrights Horizons in New York on Monday, September 19, hosted by co-founders of the Fellows Program Lynn Ahrens & Stephen Flaherty. BroadwayWorld has photos from the event below!

Drama Desk and OBIE-winning Transport Group will present Picnic and Come Back, Little Sheba: William Inge in Repertory, directed by Artistic Director Jack Cummings III, two plays in rotating repertory as the centerpiece of its 2016-17 season.  Performances begin Thursday, February 23 and run through Sunday, April 23 at the Gym at Judson, 243 Thompson Street.  The opening night has been set for Sunday, March 26.

Earl Carpenter, who starred in the West End and on Broadway as The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera and Inspector Javert in Les Miserables, and West End star Anita Louise Combe, Tessie Tura in Gypsy at the Savoy Theatre and both Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly in Chicago, head the cast of a major new actor-musician production of RAGTIME at Charing Cross Theatre. The Dramatists Guild Fund presented new work by the graduating 2015-2016 at Playwrights Horizons in New York last night, September 19, hosted by co-founders of the Fellows Program Lynn Ahrens & Stephen Flaherty. Chisa Hutchinson, playwright and 2010-2011 Fellow received the inaugural Thom Thomas Award, presented by Janis Purins at Playwrights Horizons. The Theater Hall of Fame announced today its 2016 honorees, who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on Monday, November 14, 2016 at The Gershwin Theatre in New York City. 

The new musical Anastasia will begin previews on March 23, 2017 and open on Broadway on April 24, 2017 at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street). The musical just unveiled a new trailer for its Broadway run, featuring the show's signature song 'Journey to the Past.' Check it out below!

Spectrum Theatre Company is pleased to bring you ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, playing OCTOBER 20TH - 30th on stage at The Boyd Vance Theater at the George Washington Carver Museum. Once on This Island is a one-act musical with a book and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and music by Stephen Flaherty. Based on the 1985 novel My Love, My Love; or, The Peasant Girl by Rosa Guy, it is set in the French Antilles archipelago in the Caribbean Sea. The show includes elements of the Romeo and Juliet story and elements of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale The Little Mermaid. It concerns a peasant girl on a tropical island, who uses the power of love to bring together people of different social classes. The original Broadway production ran from 1990 to 1991, and the West End production opened in 1994, where it won the 1995 Olivier Award for Best New Musical.

Ako Mitchell stars as Harlem musician Coalhouse Walker Jr., one of the central characters in the musical 'Ragtime'. This stunning new actor-musician version, with a cast led by West End and Broadway stars EARL CARPENTER and  ANITA LOUISE COMB, will follow critically acclaimed 'Titanic' as the second in-house production at Charing Cross Theatre.

It's a madcap journey to Monte Carlo with a rich, dead uncle, mistaken identity, slamming doors, romance, and great songs.

It just might be the most anticipated concert event of the year; the tickets for Tony Winner Cynthia Erivo and two-time Tony Nominee Joshua Henry's one-night-only performance of The Last Five Years sold out in less than an hour on the first day of the evening's pre-sale. With the concert, which will be performed at Town Hall, only two days away, the entire team is hard at work perfecting the piece before sharing it with the lucky few who nabbed tickets. This afternoon, Jason Robert Brown, the composer of The Last Five Years, took to Facebook to share a sneak peak of one of the orchestra's final rehearsals before the big night. Check it out below!
