Lula Washington Dance Theatre, the Los Angeles-based repertoire dance ensemble critically hailed for its innovative and provocative choreography, will present 'The Little Rock Nine' for its debut performance at the Gallo Center for the Arts. The production takes the stage tonight, April 9, at 7 pm.

The McCallum Theatre announced today its new lineup of world-class entertainment scheduled for the 2013-2014 season with Tony Award-winning musicals and plays, legendary performers, beloved singers, Desert favorites, and international artistry all part of a very full and exciting roster. Subscriptions go on sale on Monday, April 8th at 8am for the Rabobank Broadway Blockbuster Series, Broadway and Beyond Series, Fitz's Jazz Cafe at the McCallum Series, Keyboard Conversations with Jeffrey Siegel Series, as well as a Create-Your-Own Series which allows patrons to mix, match, and program a full season of entertainment tailored to their own individual tastes.

The Hollywood Arts Council's 26th Annual Charlie Awards will take place at The Blossom Room in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel at noon today, March 29, 2012. This year's honorees will include James Burrows, Cirque du Soleil, Feast of San Gennaro Los Angeles, The Ricard Montalban Theatre, Hollywood Center Studios and Eric Garcetti.

The performances on Friday, October 12 and Saturday, October 13 are at 7:30pm. The performance on Sunday, October 14 begins at 7pm and introduces the newest addition to the festival, LEVEL UP.

Lily Cai Chinese Dance Company comes to Three Stages with "Dynasties & Beyond." Elegant, sensual, and captivating, the company melds ancient Chinese forms with modern dance in an artistic and inventive marriage of styles. "In the first six spellbinding minutes, Lily Cai served notice to her audience that they were in for an evening that would be not only exotic, but brilliantly theatrical… ?a terrific show" (Sacramento Bee). This performance is supported, ?in part, by an award from the ?National Endowment for the Arts.

Danza Floricanto/USA-Los Angeles' most acclaimed Mexican folklorico ensemble, now 38 years old-blends the vocabulary of traditional Mexican folk dance-indigenous, African, influenced and contemporary movement expressions-to create a contemporary evening length dance work. Alma Llanera-Spirit of the Plains is a 90-minute dance work inspired by the well-known Chicano classic novel, Bless Me Ultima, written by Rudolfo Anaya.
