Director/Choreographer Luis Salgado won the Best Director award last night (September 5) at the closing ceremony of the 2014 NYC Thespis Festival. Salgado was chosen out of the forty-one other shows that were part of the festival this year for his direction of Song of Solomon.

Rocky star Andy Karl and his wife Orfeh just released a new mash-up song called 'No Time for Pain (A Tribute to Rocky Broadway)' with a photographic flashback on the run of Rocky, which just closed on Broadway. This video features the Rocky instrumental theme, with vocal talents from Orfeh and Andy Karl.
Broadway's new ROCKY musical plays its final performance at the Winter Garden Theatre today, August 17th, after 28 previews and 188 regular performances. ROCKY received its world premiere in fall 2012 in Hamburg, Germany, where it continues to play to packed houses. The musical opened on Broadway on March, 13, 2014. Over a dozen noted Broadway performers including Tony Award-nominee Anika Larsen (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), Michael Mindlin (Aladdin), Courtney Reed (Aladdin), Jon Rua (In The Heights, Hands on a Hard Body), Rickey Tripp (Motown), Vince Oddo (Rocky), Luis Salgado (Rocky) and Gabriela Garcia (Chicago), among others, will donate their time and knowledge as teaching artists at the 7(th) Annual Dare to Go Beyond (D2GB) Children's Performing Arts Camp, hosted by R.Evolucion Latina (RL).
The 6th Annual Broadway Meows Concert for the Humane Society of New York will be presented at Don't Tell Mama, one night only, Monday, July 21st at 7pm. The evening will be comprised of songs by composer/ lyricist Seth Bisen-Hersh.
