Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the complete cast and creative team for Jane Austen's Emma - A Musical Romantic Comedy. The musical, with book, music and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Paul Gordon and direction by Tony Award nominee Jeff Calhoun, will run in the Old Globe Theatre Jan. 15 - Feb. 27. Preview performances run Jan. 15 - Jan. 22. Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the casting of Tony and Emmy Award nominee Jeffrey DeMunn as Willy Loman in the Globe's upcoming revival of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman. DeMunn currently stars as Dale in the hit AMC TV series 'The Walking Dead' and was nominated for a Tony Award for his harrowing performance in the Broadway production of K2. The complete cast will be announced at a later date. Directed by Pam MacKinnon, Death of a Salesman will run in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre Jan. 22 - Feb. 27. Preview performances run Jan. 22 - Jan. 26. Henry Wishcamper, originally announced to direct Rafta, Rafta..., will helm the summer season's West Coast premiere of John Morogiello's comedy of manners, Engaging Shaw.

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced The Old Globe's 2011 Summer Season. Adrian Noble will return as the Artistic Director of the Shakespeare Festival and direct Shakespeare's The Tempest and Peter Shaffer's Amadeus. Presented in repertory in the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre, the Festival will also include Much Ado About Nothing directed by Ron Daniels. The season also features Hershey Felder in Maestro: The Art of Leonard Bernstein in the Old Globe Theatre. Preceding Bernstein is a 10-day limited engagement of Hershey Felder in George Gershwin Alone. The West Coast Premiere of John Morogiello's romantic comedy, Engaging Shaw, in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre will complete the season.

Old Globe to Host 'Cat in the Hat' Series, 9/6

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced that The Old Globe, in partnership with KPBS, will host a special screening of 'The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!,' a new animated television series airing on the PBS KIDS programming block on KPBS-TV and designed to support science learning for preschoolers. The free event will take place on Monday, September 6 in the Old Globe Theatre. All children in attendance will receive complimentary goody bags and may have their photos taken with The Cat in the Hat himself. The Grinch from the Globe's annual holiday production of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! will also make a special appearance. Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced that the Old Globe's world premiere productions of Sammy and The First Wives Club - A New Musical were the recipients of five 2010 NAACP Theatre Awards. The awards presentation was held on Monday, Aug. 30 at the Director's Guild of America in Hollywood.
