After receiving more than 3,000 nominations once BroadwayWorld.com announced it's first-ever New York Cabaret Awards in early October, BWW is now pleased to announce it's final nominations ballot in 20 categories. Now it's time for all you cabaret performers and fans to vote for the best singers, musicians and shows of the year. Voting will continue until December 31 and winners will be announced in early January.

Matthew Broderick (Nice Work If You Can Get It), Tony Danza ("Who's The Boss"), Kathleen Marshall (Nice Work If You Can Get It, The Pajama Game), Greg Naughton (Founder: Blue Light Theater Company), James Naughton (Chicago), Anthony Rapp (Rent), Tom Kitt (Next To Normal), Peter Cincotti (How Deep Is The Ocean) Eric Leviton (How Deep Is The Ocean), Lorinda Lisitza (Triumphant Baby!), and Michael Ogborn (Baby Case) and others to be announced will appear at the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) 2012 Annual Gala honoring Broadway star and multiple time Tony Award and Drama Desk nominee Kelli O'Hara on Sunday, November 11th at The Hudson Theatre (145 W. 44th Street) beginning at 6:00pm. Kelli is currently starring on Broadway in Nice Work If You Can Get It, and was seen on Broadway in South Pacific, The Pajama Game, The Light In The Piazza and many others.

The award winning Arvada Center will open its 2012- 2013 season with Dirty Rotten Scoundrels directed by Rod A. Lansberry, now running through September 30 in the Main Stage Theater. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the production below.

I have to say that this is one of Arvada Center's finest productions to date, hitting every comedic note flawlessly much to the delight of the audience!

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is written by Jeffrey Lane with music and lyrics by David Yazbek. Performances are Tuesday - Saturday at 7:30 pm, Wednesday at 1pm, Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Preview performances are September 7 - 9. Moderated talkbacks with the cast are offered on Friday, September 21 after 7:30 pm show and Wednesday, September 26 after 1:00 pm show. Joe Iconis is a Tony Award-winning composer in the making, but until he wins that ultimate prize he's making a few stops along the way, like tonight when he and his 'Family' perform a concert of his 'Greatest Hits' at 54 Below.

During her recent two-night run at the Metropolitan Room (July 11, 12), Los Angeles-based nightclub singer and actress Robyn Spangler gingerly walked the tribute show tightrope and made it to the other side intact. Her show 'Why I Love Linda Ronstadt' - which earned her a 2011 BroadwayWorld.com honor as L.A.'s 'Best Female Cabaret Artist - was an honest and heartfelt homage to her singing heroine. Her Ronstadt show hit almost all the right tribute notes, with solid arrangements from her Musical Director/Pianist Todd Schroeder (who also provided nifty backup vocals) that were reverential without being replications.

Cabaret Cares/Help Is On The Way Today has annouced their sixth annual Gala Fundraiser will be held today May 20, 2012 at the Laurie Beechman Theater. Help Is On The Way Today, founded by 2012 MAC Award Winner Joseph macchia, is a 501c3 charitable organization dedicated to assisting children living with HIV/AIDS. The talent line up has just added the hilarious Christine (S**t Liza Minelli Says) Pedi. Robert Creighton, of the Tony Award winning cast of Anything Goes, will act as auctioneer.
