Long Wharf Theatre is seeking applicants for its 2011-12 Next Stage program, an innovative residency program for early career theatrical professionals.

Academy Award-winner (Amadeus) F. Murray Abraham stars as Shylock in Theatre for a New Audience's widely acclaimed 2007 production of The Merchant of Venice, directed by Darko Tresnjak.

After a week of strong previews, Eric Rosen's electrifying new production of Kansas City native John Kander and Fred Ebb's Broadway classic Cabaret is set to open tomorrow, Friday, March 25, at Kansas City Repertory Theatre. Rosen, who directs and is also the Rep's artistic director, has created a production that evokes the exciting, decadent cabaret world of pre-war World War II Berlin.

Upcoming Theatre Communication Group Member Shows - 3/20 for Hartford

Hartford Stage will celebrate the artistic partnership among director Michael Wilson, set designer Jeff Cowie, and sound designer John Gromada in Working with Michael, a multi-media exhibit in 'room,' Hartford Stage's new function space. At the same time, the theatre will unveil Part II of Capturing the Moment, a season-long retrospective of the work of company photographer T. Charles Ericson, commemorating his 25 years with Hartford Stage. The Ericson installation will be in the theatre's upper lobby. The exhibits coincide with the run of Divine Rivalry, a world premiere play by noted political journalist Michael Kramer, which is the last MainStage production Wilson will be directing as Hartford Stage Artistic Director. Cowie designed the sets for the production, and Gromada the sound and original music. Official opening of both exhibits is Wednesday, March 2 at 6:00 p.m., directly before the 7:30 performance of Divine Rivalry.

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, presents the World premiere of Sense & Sensibility written and directed by Jon Jory, adapted from the novel by Jane Austen. Sense & Sensibility runs March 10-April 17, 2011. The press opening is March 19, 2011.

Asolo Repertory Theatre is thrilled to introduce Florida audiences to Las Meninas, by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage.

YALE REPERTORY THEATRE (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) presents the U.S. premiere of Ingmar Bergman's AUTUMN SONATA, directed by Robert Woodruff, based on a literal translation by Wendy Weckwerth, at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street) April 12-May 7, 2011.

Long Wharf Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein, concludes its 2010-11 season with Italian American Reconciliation, by John Patrick Shanley, directed by Eric Ting, running from April 27 through May 22.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) presents the thrilling story of a monarch's struggle for control over his mind and government with The Madness of George III. Masterfully written by Alan Bennett, the Laurence Olivier and Tony Award-winning playwright of The History Boys, the production's title role of King George III is performed by three-time Tony Award nominee Harry Groener.

Theatre Exile concludes its 2010-2011 season with Saturn Returns (April 28 - May 22), by Noah Haidle. Saturn Returns launches audiences into a bittersweet orbit of memory, longing and love with the same offbeat, savagely funny exploration into loneliness that made Haidle's Mr. Marmalade an audience favorite.

Philadelphia Theatre Company continues its 35th Anniversary Season with the Philadelphia debut of Anna Deavere Smith in her one-woman, award-winning show Let Me Down Easy, running March 18 through April 10, 2011 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (Broad and Lombard Streets).

Screen and stage actor, writer, and director Zach Braff will host the Huntington Theatre Company's 2011 Spotlight Spectacular! gala benefit on Monday, May 9, 2011 at the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel. The event will honor Boston playwright Lydia R. Diamond and Trustee Bill McQuillan with The Wimberly Award, the Huntington's highest honor. The evening's entertainment will be announced shortly.

Award-winning Broadway actor Brian Murray has joined the cast of "Angel Street," a Script in Hand reading of the Victorian suspense thriller upon which the classic film "Gaslight" is based, at Westport Country Playhouse on Monday, March 14, 7 p.m. Murray will play the role of Inspector Rough.
