Charity Network announced today that its digital fundraising campaign Lin-Manuel Miranda and Charity Network Rise Up for Good has won The Webby People's Voice Award in Social - Public Service & Activism in the 22nd Annual Webby Awards.

The Segal Centre is thrilled to announce that due to popular demand, the English-language world premiere of The Angel and the Sparrow will be extending until May 13, 2018. Based on the true story of Marlene Dietrich and Edith Piaf, two indomitable women of incomparable talent, this new musical drama is an intimate and entertaining portrait of the fascinating friendship between show business legends that began under the most unlikely of circumstances and lasted their entire lives.  

Stars from some of the most popular shows on Broadway, including Angels in America, The Band's Visit, Dear Evan Hansen, Frozen, Hello, Dolly!, The Lion King, Mean Girls, Once on This Island and SpongeBob SquarePants, gathered today at the Minskoff Theatre for the 32nd annual Easter Bonnet Competition. What were the results of this fundraising season? A whopping $5,721,879!

Magical Music for Life writes catchy original songs and family-based musicals to illuminate critical issues facing children and their families. 'A Day in the Life of a Child' is an album of free downloadable songs to teach life skills to all young children, especially children with autism and special needs.

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center , announces that multi-discipline creative artist Lin-Manuel Miranda will receive the 18th Monte Cristo Award . An alumnus of the O'Neill, Miranda's first professional production was at the O'Neill's National Music Theater Conference with In The Heights in 2005. A gala dinner featuring a conversation with the honoree will be held at the Edison Ballroom (New York) on Monday, April 30, 2018.

Actors' Equity Association has named Lin-Manuel Miranda the recipient of the 2018 Rosetta LeNoire Award. The award, established in 1988, is given for outstanding artistic contributions to the universality of human experience in American theatre. It goes to an individual, theatre or producing organization with an exemplary record in the hiring or promotion of people of color, women and actors with disabilities through diverse and inclusive casting.

Actors' Equity Association, the labor union for professional stage actors and stage managers, just presented the 2018 Rosetta LeNoire Award to Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced complete casting today for the 2018 Free Shakespeare in the Park production of OTHELLO beginning Tuesday, May 29 at the Delacorte Theater, continuing a 56-year tradition of free theater in Central Park. Directed by Tony Award winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson, OTHELLO will officially open on Monday, June 18 and will run through Sunday, June 24.

The national tour of HAMILTON will return to St. Louis in the 2019-2020 U.S. Bank Broadway season, it was announced today by producer Jeffrey Seller and the Fabulous Fox Theatre. HAMILTON just completed its three-week debut engagement at the Fabulous Fox.

Ghostlight Records has announced that PRINCE OF BROADWAY Original Broadway Cast Recording is available in physical, digital and streaming formats today, Friday, April 20. The 16-page CD booklet includes color production photography and liner notes by Hal Prince and David Thompson.

Two dozen nominations of outstanding actors, directors, designers and ensembles were announced today by The Boston Theater Critics Association for the 36th Annual Elliot Norton Awards, celebrating achievement in Boston theatre.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced today a two-week extension for the world premiere of MLIMA'S TALE. Written by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage and directed by Obie Award winner Jo Bonney, MLIMA'S TALE continues The Public's Astor Anniversary Season at their landmark downtown home on Lafayette Street, celebrating 50 years of new work and the 50th Anniversary of HAIR. MLIMA'S TALE will now run two additional weeks through Sunday, June 3.

Theatre fans, you are running out of time to vote for Broadway's favorite behind-the-scenes, documentary podcast 'Broadway Backstory' in this year's Webby Awards. The show, hosted by Patrick Hinds, is currently nominated in the Best Branded Podcast or Segment category.

EXQUISITA AGONÍA -- the newest work by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Nilo Cruz (ANNA IN THE TROPICS) - has announced casting for the play's world premiere engagement at the esteemed Off-Broadway theater, Repertorio Español (138 E. 27 St.) in Manhattan, according to the company's Executive Producer Robert Federico. Preview performances begin May 25 prior to official press opening on May 30. Repertorio Español performs in Spanish, with English simultext optional at every seat in the company's 140-seat theater.

Producer Rick Murray will present the 2018 Cabaret Series in Provincetown, MA this summer at The Crown & Anchor's Paramount Theatre, Cabaret Room, and Town Hall Auditorium.  Tickets are now on sale for the Series, in which an impressive list of award-winning stars will be performing live in full concerts.  Following up on last summer's smash hit season, the 2018 Cabaret Series will include the talents of comedian Paula Poundstone as well as Broadway stars Lucie Arnaz (They're Playing Our Song, Pippin), Telly Leung (Aladdin, Allegiance), Anthony Rapp (Rent, If/Then), Linda Eder (Jekyll and Hyde), and Emmy Award winners Leslie Jordan (Will and Grace) and Bruce Vilanch.
