Photo Coverage: On the Red Carpet for Public Theater's ONE THRILLING COMBINATION Gala

The Public Theater last night presented the one-night-only Public Theater annual gala ONE THRILLING COMBINATION at the Delacorte Theater. Directed by Ted Sperling, the gala event celebrated Marvin Hamlisch, The Public Theater and the 40th anniversary of the creation of A Chorus Line. Performers incuded: John Lithgow, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Zachary Quinto, Martha Plimpton, Billy Porter, Jonathan Groff, Sutton Foster, Joshua Bell, Lindsay Mendez, Claybourne Elder,Krysta Rodriguez, Marissa McGowan, Laura Shoop, Peter Dugan, Nikka Graff Lanzarone, Jessica Wu, Mylinda Hull,Brooke Sunny Moriber, Nicole Lewis and more! Photo Flash: MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING Takes First Bows at Central Park's Delacorte Theatre!

The Public Theater's free Shakespeare in the Park production of Much Ado About Nothing officially opened tlast night, Monday, June 16. The production will run through Sunday, July 6. Obie Award winner Hamish Linklater and Tony Award nominee Lily Rabe return to the Park as the wise-cracking, would-be lovers Beatrice and Benedick in the beloved romantic comedy. Central Park becomes sun-drenched Sicily at the turn of the last century, where the heat of summer ignites the fevered passions of lovesick ladies in corsets and pining gentlemen spying from the verandah. Three-time Tony winner Jack O'Brien directs this delightful skirmish of wit between two self-declared bachelors tricked by their mischief-making friends into falling in love against their will and in spite of their own hearts. Donna Lynne Champlin Launches Online Auction to Raise Funds for ALS

Broadway's Donna Lynne Champlin (Sweeney Todd, Billy Elliott, Hollywood Arms) announces Ode To Joy, a national online auction of one-of-a-kind Broadway, film and TV memorabilia donated by her friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry to raise funds for her sister-in-law Joy Parker, one of a handful of young women in the United States living with ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease. The auction will go live today, Tuesday, June 10 and continue through Friday, June 20.

SDC Welcomes Marsha Mason as 2,000th Active Full Member

In May, Marsha Mason became the 2,000th active Full Member of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), a national labor union representing stage directors and choreographers working throughout the United States.

Julia Stiles and James Wirt Set to Lead PHOENIX at Cherry Lane Theatre; Opens 8/7

Julie Pacino, Poverty Row Entertainment, Rian Patrick Durham and Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, by special arrangement with The Cherry Lane Theatre, just announced that Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee Julia Stiles ("Dexter") will return to the New York stage opposite James Wirt in a fresh take on Scott Organ's play PHOENIX. Directed by Jennifer DeLia, PHOENIX begins performances at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) Monday, July 28, and opens Thursday, August 7. PHOENIX will play a limited engagement through Saturday, August 23. The design team for PHOENIX will be announced shortly.
