Celebrating her 15th solo appearance at Carnegie Hall, classical pianist Katya Grineva presents an evening of holiday music and virtuoso romantic masterpieces for one night only, Saturday, December 26th at 8:00 p.m. The Russian native, whose dream it was to one day play at the iconic venue, is the first woman to perform as a soloist at Carnegie this many times. Known for her deep connetion to the Romantics, Katya mixes staples by Mozart and Chopin with various seasonal chestnuts. Performing works from her latest album A Classical Holiday, Katya showcases new arrangements of Christmas classics including Silent Night, Sleigh Ride, and My Favorite Things as well as traditional carols and pieces from The Nutcracker. In June 2015 the New York Philharmonic will mark the 50th anniversary of its historic Concerts in the Parks, the iconic series of free outdoor performances that has been enjoyed by more than 14 million concertgoers since it was introduced in August 1965. The centerpiece of the Philharmonic's celebration will be five free performances throughout the boroughs of New York City, June 17-23, 2015; this will be complemented by a variety of activities, ranging from performances to crowdsourcing memories of parks concerts, and other online and educational projects.

The New York Philharmonic's 2014 holiday season presents classic masterpieces and seasonal favorites, the return of a former Philharmonic principal and debuts, and continuing and new traditions. This year's schedule includes the annual Holiday Brass concert, this time with former Principal Trumpet Philip Smith returning to host and conduct the complete New York Philharmonic Brass and Percussion sections; Handel's Messiah, led by Baroque specialist Gary Thor Wedow; the first-annual Holidays with the Philharmonic, led by Constantine Kitsopoulos and featuring a carol sing-along and The Night Before Christmas, narrated by Academy Award winner and New York Philharmonic Board Member Whoopi Goldberg (December 19) and humorist, journalist, and actor Mo Rocca (December 20), both in their Philharmonic debuts; and New Year's Eve: A Gershwin Celebration led by Bramwell Tovey and featuring vocalists Dianne Reeves, in her Philharmonic debut, and Norm Lewis, returning after his debut in the Philharmonic's production of Show Boat. The New Year's Eve concert will be telecast live nationally on Live From Lincoln Center on PBS stations.
BPO Scheduled to Perform at Erie County Fair, 8/6

BUFFALO, NY - The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of JoAnn Falletta, is opening the 175th Erie County Fair with an 'American Voices' concert at 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 6. Many opportunities for photo and video exist during this day.
The orchestra will rehearse for this concert from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Fair's Grandstand on August 6. Individual musicians will be available for appearances until 7 p.m. Please contact Kate Jenkins if you are interested in speaking with a musician. The concert begins at 8 p.m. at the Grandstand. It features music by Aaron Copland, Duke Ellington and Leroy Anderson, and concludes with a fireworks show. Contact Holly Smyczynski for site-related assistance.
Photographers and videographers are welcome to shoot up to 30 minutes total during rehearsal and during the concert. Video used may represent up to a three-minute excerpt of one work or up to five minutes of multiple works. Photographers are asked to refrain from using flash at the evening concert.

The York Theatre Company celebrates the great American lyricist Marshall Barer (Once Upon a Mattress) with a special concert event, The Marshall Barer Project, a musical tour through the life, career and mind of a man whose songs are shimmering jewels from the American Songbook. Starring BJ Ward with special guest Michael Feinstein. Directed by Gordon Hunt, The Marshall Barer Project will play two performances only on Tuesday June 10, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (Citicorp Building, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).
