Duck for President, Fancy Nancy & Other Story Books, a part of the FCAT connection at the Florida Theatre will play April 7, 2011 at 10am and 12pm. This show is intended for grades Pre-K through third. Other stories that will be told include Babymouse: The Musical, I Have to Go!, Leonardo, the Terrible Monster, and Pirates Don't Change Diapers. The show is presented by Theatreworks, Inc. of Jacksonville.
Harry Potter fans in New York City can rejoice, as they will soon have the chance to step inside the famous wizard's magical world with Harry Potter: The Exhibition, which opens at Discovery Times Square on April 5, 2011. The previously unscheduled stop in New York City will serve as the tour's final North American destination before going international. JERUSALEM, the critically acclaimed and multi-award winning play by Jez Butterworth and starring Tony and Olivier Award-winner Mark Rylance (Boeing-Boeing, La Bête), is pleased to announce a rush ticket policy. The production, directed by Ian Rickson, begins previews on Saturday, April 2, prior to a Thursday, April 21 opening night at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street). This is the last couple of weeks for the inaugural season of the Marvell Repertory Theatre (Lenny Leibowitz, artistic director; Amy Estes, managing director) is NYC's only Equity (AEA) professional theatre - devoted exclusively to producing new and enduring works in rotating repertory.
Hartford Stage will celebrate the artistic partnership among director Michael Wilson, set designer Jeff Cowie, and sound designer John Gromada in Working with Michael, a multi-media exhibit in 'room,' Hartford Stage's new function space. At the same time, the theatre will unveil Part II of Capturing the Moment, a season-long retrospective of the work of company photographer T. Charles Ericson, commemorating his 25 years with Hartford Stage. The Ericson installation will be in the theatre's upper lobby. The exhibits coincide with the run of Divine Rivalry, a world premiere play by noted political journalist Michael Kramer, which is the last MainStage production Wilson will be directing as Hartford Stage Artistic Director. Cowie designed the sets for the production, and Gromada the sound and original music. Official opening of both exhibits is Wednesday, March 2 at 6:00 p.m., directly before the 7:30 performance of Divine Rivalry.
