The Film Stage has confirmed that Jay-Z will score Baz Luhrmann's movie adaptation of The Great Gatsby, starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

From the uniquely imaginative mind of writer/producer/director Baz Luhrmann comes the new big screen adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel The Great Gatsby. The filmmaker has created his own distinctive visual interpretation of the classic story, bringing the period to life in a way that has never been seen before, in a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role. Warner Bros. Pictures' and Village Roadshow Pictures' THE GREAT GATSBY will open early in the Summer 2013 season, hitting theaters on May 10 in the U.S. and Canada, with an international rollout beginning the following week. The Cinema for Peace Foundation announced today that Academy Award-winning actor, filmmaker and founder of the Eastern Congo Initiative, Ben Affleck, will be honored with the Cinema for Peace Humanitarian Award at the 2013 Gala for Humanity on January 11 at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, Calif. In the wake of the Newtown, Connecticut shootings, The Weinstein Company has announced that tonight's Los Angeles premiere of Quentin Tarantino's new film, DJANGO UNCHAINED, has been cancelled. Entertainwent Weekly confirmed the news this morning.

The Weinstein Company, Quentin Tarantino and Loma Vista Recordings previously announced the release of Quentin Tarantino'S DJANGO UNCHAINED ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK. DJANGO UNCHAINED marks the first time that Academy Award-winning and Grammy Award nominated director Quentin Tarantino has collaborated with artists to create original music for use in the film and original motion picture soundtrack. The soundtrack will be in stores and at all digital retailers today, December 18th.

Following its acclaimed 16-week run at the Lookingglass Theatre Company this fall, Metamorphoses brings the mythical tales of Ovid to life at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, 10 years after the Broadway premiere. Written and directed by Tony Award winner Mary Zimmerman, Metamorphoses is based on David Slavitt's translation and marks the first time Zimmerman will direct the production since its Broadway run. This is also the first time Zimmerman will stage Metamorphoses in the round, and a custom set will be designed with the largest pool of water ever created for this production. Metamorphoses dives onto the Fichandler Stage February 8-March 17, 2013.

This year's lineup features Chris Botti (trumpet), Billy Kilson (drums), Billy Childs(piano), Lisa Fischer (vocals), Ben Butler (guitar 12/17-26),Leonardo Amuedo (guitar 12/27-1/6), Richie Goods (bass), Andy Ezrin (keyboards), Arianna Warsaw-Fan (violin 12/17-26), andCaroline Campbell (violin 12/27-1/6). New Year's Eve will include a champagne toast, hats, noisemakers, a countdown and balloon drop.
