Disney Theatrical Productions announced today that Dean John-Wilson will play the role of Aladdin alongside Jade Ewen as Jasmine in the West End premiere of the new musical based on the classic Academy Award-winning animated film. BroadwayWorld previously reported that the duo were in negotiations for the show, but the official word came today.

West End and Broadway leading man Alex Hanson takes on the role of 'Pilate', joining Tim Minchin, Melanie C, Chris Moyles and ITV Superstar winner Ben Forster in the cutting-edge rock musical which opens on 21st September at London's The O2 arena before embarking on a 21 date arena tour across the UK and Ireland.
